Anxiety and Suicide
Which mental health conditions are most likely to
lead to suicidal thoughts and behavior? Some
studies have revealed anxiety, more than
depression, is a strong risk factor for suicide.
Suicide is one of the three leading causes of death
for Americans ages 15 to 44. Other findings were:
 Among those with suicidal ideation, 52.4%
had at least one Anxiety Disorder.
 Among those with suicidal attempts, 64.1%
had at least one Anxiety Disorder.
 The presence of one or more Anxiety Disorders
was significantly associated with lifetime
suicidal ideation and suicide attempts.
 All of the Anxiety Disorders were strongly
associated with lifetime suicidal ideation and
suicide attempts.

Medical marijuana measure back on
Florida ballot
Florida voters will, for a second time, take a stab at
approving a controversial measure: legalizing medical
marijuana.
The debate over medical marijuana is festering and
coming to a head. Many U.S. states now have active
medical marijuana laws, but the federal government
still classifies it as a Class I controlled substance,
which is illegal to possess. With strong supporters on
each side of the debate, the arguments for and against
the legalization of marijuana are hot topics. What are
the debated pros and cons of medical marijuana? Read
