North 2012
Media Information
Celebrating its 9th year North 2012 once again gathered people from across churches in the
north of the UK and further afield to the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside at Coulbeck
Farm over the August Bank Holiday weekend. We had the great privilege of hearing excellent
teaching by: David Devenish, Dave Holden, Adrian Holloway and Jeremy Simpkins as our main
speakers.
There were powerful times of worship and a real sense of excitement as blind eyes were
opened and people responded to the gospel. North 2012 was no ordinary event, we were
encouraged to go back into the world and live with Christ at the centre of everything we do!
You can get a sense of the atmosphere by downloading the talks from the weekend.
ChristCentral - Jeremy opens North 2012 by speaking about the changes going on in
Newfrontiers and presenting the name ChristCentral to the delegates as the name of
the apostolic team which he will lead. Drawing from Ephesians 1 he encourages us to
proclaim the Kingdom of Jesus, which one day all creation will be caught up in!
God’s Plan To Change The World - David Devenish encourages us from Genesis 4 and
the story of Cain. He explains that the stories we read in the Bible are there to
help us change our worldview; they are intended to teach us what a Biblical worldview
is. David shows us how Genesis 4 presents the full story of salvation and how we have
a responsibility to bring the gospel so that every people group is reached and
reconciled
Gospel Presentation - Adrian Holloway speaks at our Saturday evening main meeting,
explaining what it means to be a Christian and how we can respond
in faith.
God’s Plan To Change The World Part 2 - In the second and final part of his mini
series on God’s plan to change the world David Devenish re-iterates that the intention
of
Genesis 4 & 5 was to help restore a Godly worldview to Israel after the people had
spent over 400 yrs in the land of Egypt. David speaks about how even the line of Cain
has blessed the nations through the various cultural advances that they brought. He
encouraged us to engage with culture and to have a good Biblical worldview, he
reminded us that God’s plan is to unite everything under Christ.
How To Handle Weakness - In his final message to delegates at North 2012 Jeremy
speaks about handling weakness. He reminds us that every Christian will encounter
weakness and even if they haven’t yet, they more than likely will! This message is an
appeal for the weak to say they are strong in Christ. When we are in a position of
weakness and we pray it is then that we can see God’s anointing on us!
Authority - The Great Commission - In the final talk of North 2012, Dave Holden
initially summarises the major themes of the event: the vision for ChristCentral, the
current multiplication of apostolic teams within Newfrontiers, our ongoing
relationships within Newfrontiers, the repercussions of the teaching we have received
and how we as Christians need to be vulnerable with one another, to guard against the
culture of celebrity.
He then moves on to speak from Matthew 28v18-20 about the authority that we have
been given through Jesus. He encourages us that the only basis for going anywhere or
doing anything falls on this word authority. The emphasis of this passage is not on the
going but in the authority and its not our own authority but Christ’s.
Breaking Down Cultural Barriers - John Cardinal talks about how we break down
cultural barriers when building church
Word & Spirit Churches - David Holden speaks on one of our Distinctives

North 2013
Media Information
Celebrating its 10th year, North 2013, for the final time gathered people from North America,
Scandinavia, East & Central Africa and from all over the UK to the beautiful North Yorkshire
countryside at Coulbeck Farm over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
We had the very great privilege of receiving excellent teaching from: Scott Marques, Adrian
Holloway, Joe Crummey and Jeremy Simpkins who were our main speakers, as well as many
others who spoke in our seminars. There were powerful times of worship and a real sense of
euphoria and rejoicing as we heard stories of lives changed.
North 2013 really was a commissioning time, we were sent out as a people to be the Temple
of God, with a vision to see a nation and the nations changed...with the added excitement that
God was already beginning to do this amongst us as a people! North really did become what
its tag line suggested - a group of people going "From the North To The Nations!"
Great Faith, Great Action - P1 - Scott Marques opened North 2013 with the thunder
of heaven ringing in our ears that we need great faith in a great God. That it is
impossible to please God without faith and that this faith should be accompanied by
great action - which he spoke more about the following day.
Great Faith, Great Action - P2 - Scott Marques continued in his two part series on
Great Faith, Great Action by earthing this into action. He so clearly showed us that
Everything We Do Matters, that everything counts, that effectiveness and fruitfulness
matter and that we should seek first God's kingdom. He called us to "know God and do
mighty exploits!"
Gospel Presentation - Adrian Holloway speaks at our Saturday evening main meeting,
explaining what it means to be a Christian and how we can respond in faith.
Knowing Our Identity - Joe Crummey speaks about knowing our identity in God,
knowing God's purpose for us and knowing that God will provide for us.
The Temple Of God - Jeremy shares a movement shaping message regarding The
Temple of God. He takes us through the various manifestations of the Temple we see
throughout Biblical history and leads us to understand that WE are now The Temple
because the spirit lives in us. He reminds us that what marks us out in this world is
the presence of God and that we should take this presence into the world we live and
work in!
Our New Wine Skin - Jeremy shares about the reasons for closing North and the
vision for the future. He explains that the team sense God calling us to a new wine
skin where we not only build excellent churches but we train men & women who will
go out and help transform society in every area of life. The final North was closed by

ChristCentral Training Days
Media Information
As part of our commitment to training and equipping leaders and churches ChristCentral
holds a number of training sessions throughout the year. We invite various speakers from
across the Newfrontiers family and further afield to share with us on particular subjects.
The Bride Of Christ - John Hosier reminds us why it is important to teach on the
church being the Bride of Christ: It assures us of where history is going and that God's
ultimate victory is certain. John was a member of the Eldership team at CCK in
Brighton for over 20 years and has travelled widely amongst our family of churches in
many nations with his pastoral and teaching ministry. He has also written several
books including “Christ’s Radiant Church”
Seasons of Ministry - John and Sue Hosier share their story including some of their
experiences and insight from over 40 yrs of ministry in local churches. John and Sue
were based at CCK in Brighton for over 20 yrs. For over 8 yrs John was Lead Elder
during which time he oversaw a multi-million pound building project. They regularly
travel together speaking and encouraging churches and leaders across the world.
Christians & Politics - Adrian shares his paper "Christians & Politics" which he wrote
for Newfrontiers which looks at how Christians should engage wisely in politics:
"All too easily Christians are silenced by a vocal minority suggesting that faith and
politics should not mix.”
We even find some religious leaders promoting this viewpoint: Commenting in
2005, Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks wrote in The Times “Religion becomes political at
its peril, and ours.” Similarly, Pope John Paul II “untiringly [stated] that Priests
should steer clear of politics”. How can this be right?
If we are, as God commanded Israel, to “loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo
the straps of the yoke [and] to let the oppressed go free “(Isa 58:6f), and if we are to
be the “salt of the earth... [and] the light of the world... ”(Mt 5:13-14), then surely we
Page 4 of 7
are obliged to lobby the authorities and to advocate justice and righteousness in
government policy."

Holloway and Kirsh Kandiah as well as many other speakers who contributed to the LifeZones

The Glory Of God - Jeremy opens Devoted with an exposition Exodus 33:1-3 looking
at how God’s presence was with Moses and how our cry should be the same, “if your
presence is not with us do not send us up from here”. He reminded us that when we
meet as the church we should expect God’s presence to be with us. We were also
reminded that God wants to display through us his goodness, his character and his
glory!
A Study On Jonah - Do you Belong To Me? - In his excellent first preach at Devoted
Terry looks at the story of Jonah, he looks at how the story of Jonah speaks to us. God
asks us the same question he asked Jonah: “Do you belong to me? I want your life, I
want it now and it's now or never...” we are called to step out!
Jonathan & His Armour Bearer - Expect Great Things, Attempt Great Things - In our
final main stage message at Devoted Terry stirred us to expect great things from God
and to attempt great things for God by looking at the story of Jonathan and his
armour bearer in 1 Samuel 14:1-23. He encouraged us to be true children of the
missions pioneer’s Hudson Taylor & William Carey.
God Is Building His Family The Church - God is building His family, the church.
Together we all have a part to play in being family and sharing this with others. This
session looks to envision us and give building blocks for being God's transforming
community wherever we are.

pastoral life. Phil will give a leader's perspective on making this process work. He will
share his story, things he has learnt and he will encourage you on your similar journey.

us all in one way or another. It is rife in the UK. Churches are at the forefront of both
campaigning and also caring for the victims. This is a talk not to miss.
