Holy Rosary September 21, 2016 Notes & Quotes Mr. Mullis’ Weekly Letter “Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength.” This quote by Corrie ten Boom reminds me of a lesson I learned years ago. When we worry about the future we miss out on the joys of today. Looking past the present towards a future event doesn’t do justice to the journey we are on in life. When my family travels for vacation, we try to enjoy the “to” and “from” as much as the destination itself. Whether it’s the scenery, a side trip to a silly tourist attraction or taking the small town route instead of the interstate; all of these experiences help us to appreciate the here and now instead of wasting it away. The same can be said for all of us who worry to much about our troubles. When we dwell on our troubles, it takes away the positive experiences that are part of our daily journey. Reminding ourselves to “stop and smell the roses” every day can help to lessen our worries and broaden our smiles. Once we accomplish that, our whole life journey will take a positive route to our final destination. After all, there’s no need for us to bring up all our worries each day; there’s plenty of people who do that for us. Smile, be happy and enjoy the ride! Our Spirit Week has been awesome so far. I loved seeing the different decades represented on Tuesday and all the Wacky accessories today. Our students certainly know how to dress up. Tomorrow we have our HR spirit day where all students can wear their jersey or a HR shirt with jeans/PE shorts. Our pep rally will begin at 1:30pm in the Wiley gym. We will recognize all our fall sport athletes and be entertained by our cheerleaders as they perform their routine. Come join us as we show off our RAM pride and have fun during spirit week. Our last Spirit Week activity is the Skating Party on Friday. It is being held at the East End skating rink from 3:30pm-5:30pm. It’s a great way to end our week!
