Fr Prem’s Message ~ As I wish you a very Happy New Year, may I take the opportunity to thank
one and all for your love and care towards the parish, the priest and its peoples thorough out last year.
Though I may not be the one to be thankful, I take the privilege of doing so realising that without such
help; your love and care, I wouldn’t have been able to do my priestly ministry here in the parish, let alone
to remain a priest. It is always good to look back and be resolved to do better in the future; a better priest,
a better parishioner, a better altar server, a reader, helper etc. If one fails we all have failed and we have
to ask the question how did I cause one to fail, and how could I better it, not just finding fault with, and
so go in circles of a blame game. So lets be resolved for the New Year!! Let us all make a resolution to be
of help and support to the parish to better it in whatever way you think, you can and we can.
On this New Year’s day we are delighted that we can recognise the services of our Altar Servers,
by awarding the St Stephen’s medal and other awards for their services. My thanks to them.
The first major event I like to highlight, is the Parish Assembly. It will be an opportunity for
us to reflect and put forward, suggestions to do better. So reserve this day as an important day in your
diary where we shall have the opportunity to come together and discuss matters of the parish. It will be a
wonderful opportunity to celebrate all what is done and look forward to doing better. I am sure you will!
I am sure you all would be appreciative, and would take note of the Catechist Training Programme for the parish making the most of it. This invitation is for all catechists, parents, youth and
others interested. Its for our future! Further information is found in this newsletter. Please sign up for it.

chilly winter months at the corner of Hensington Road and Oxford Street , "The Punchbowl" for our Sunday "Coffee and Chat". Robert Pound , the landlord extends a warm
welcome to St Hugh's and will provide tea, coffee etc at a dedicated table for us for an
hour after Mass. The "Punchbowl "often welcomes church groups so we will be in good
