Project pumpkin – You are awesome!
– Continue with plant and animal cell notes.
– Our math this week will explore finding equivalent fractions, finding the
greatest common factor (GCF) of two numbers, writing fractions in the simplest
form, and comparing fractions. On Tuesday, we will be participating in the
school-wide Mock CRCT. The data I gather from this practice will guide the
individual education plan I have in place to help your child meet and exceed the
state mandated test. Students who are still struggling with their multiplication
facts will find this work especially trying. I would strongly urge all my students to
work diligently in memorizing these facts. Special attention should be given to
the 6, 7, 8 & 9s. There are many websites to make the learning more palatable
on our class website www.mrwhiteonline.com. Look under the math link and
then navigate to whole numbers.
– 4-A-Day Quiz Friday –
MCC5.NF.3 Interpret a fraction as division of the numerator by the denominator (a/b = a ÷ b)
MCC5.NF.4 Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction or whole number
by a fraction
MCC5.NF.6 Solve real world problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers

Succeed is a free program sponsored by Six Flags Theme Parks. Every student
who completes six hours of recreational reading before the deadline is eligible

appreciation for books when they see that you think reading is important too.
You are sure to have fun as you investigate the world of reading together!
