Tuks Rhythmic Gymnastics April 2014 Hi Everybody A warm welcome back to all after the short break. We trust everybody watched some of the Africa Championships and is super motivated now. A Huge Congratulations to Aimee van Rooyen (placed third overall) and Julene Van Rooyen (placed fifth overall) and 2nd with Ball, 3rd with Hoop and Clubs in Apparatus Finals, you really made us proud!! Thank you for everybody’s patience with the move of our training venue for the duration of the Graduation. We will be back on the 5th of May. Level 1 to 3 Gymnast We are all preparing for the competition season. All our Novice Gymnasts (Level 1 - 3) will be starting competitions soon and we wish you all a very joyful experience. What to wear: Club Rhythmic leotard Blue Tuks T-shirt (available from gymnastics office) Red TuksGymnastics hoodie (available from gymnastics office) Tight fitting navy blue tracksuit pants. Coaches will discuss make-up and hair for the competitions. Competitions: 9 and 10 May SAGF Novice Invitational at Wits University – Selected Gymnast will receive. 17 May St Mary’s competition 23/24 May The TuksGymnastics competition, that we would have hosted, had to be cancelled due to the fact that the University Netball Team now has a game on and unfortunately student affairs take precedence. 7 June Wierda Competition at Matsport Centre in Clubview, Pretoria Still awaiting entry forms. 27 and 28 June Central Gauteng Inter-provincial Invitational. Still awaiting information. Level 4 to 7 Gymnast Hopefully you are all on track with your routine preparation for the upcoming competition season. This is the last stretch towards the competition season and we ask that you all attend training sessions and will train the first (30 June – 4 July) and last week (14 – 19 July) of the July holiday. The following have been put in place to give our gymnasts the best opportunity. I am pleased to inform you, are we are very privileged that Nina Ervedosa (Olympic Coach) will be joining our club with her top gymnasts’, as from the beginning of the 2nd Quarter. (7 April 2014) She will coach in our system on Mondays and Wednesdays and Fridays this year and Tristan your class times are 3 times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Anna and Nicolette together with the level 4 gymnasts. Jessica and Anthea you will train on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Anna and Nicolette and the level 4 gymnasts. You will then train at Nina’s club on Tuesdays (15H00 to 18H00) and/or Thursdays (15H30 to 18H30). Please let me know which days you will train there. Level 8 and Higher After the meeting we had with all your parents, the following have been put in place to improve our program and reinstating it as one of the best clubs in the country. We are pleased to inform you that we are very privileged that Nina Ervedosa (Olympic Coach) will be joining our club with her top gymnasts’, as from the beginning of the 2nd Quarter (7 April 2014). She will coach in our system on Mondays and Wednesdays and Fridays this year. We are planning to amalgamate our level 8 and higher program on a permanent basis from the beginning of 2015. We would like to welcome the following gymnasts, Level 8 and higher gymnasts in our program and trust you will have a very successful and enjoyable affiliation with us. Shannon Gardiner, Chris-Marie van Wyk, Chandre Wiid, Claurette Oosthuizen We also would like to congratulate Shannon and Chris-Marie for their great performances at the Africa Championships – Well done Ladies.
