on Sunday, quite a few sizeable
catches were reported the two
days previous . Sunday 's bad weather did not handicap Joe Hanley
and Charles Bytheway who boated
12 stipers aboard the Fifty Fifty ,
trolling in the Inlet. The largest
ran about 12 pounds.
Also on Sunday, George Conway
chummed off the Yellow Bar and
brought eight blues aboard the
Water Wa ve . And Jim McCourt ,
with Lynn Andrews , the John
Sturgeons and youngster s aboard
the Challenger, brought home
three bass and a pair of blues ,
trolling in the Inlet.
Most unusual catch of the weekend weighed in at Windsor Marine
was that brought in by Third
Precinct Det. Ed Farace with his
wife and daughter. They went
blowfishing off Heckscher State
Park Friday, using squid for bait,
but came home with 26 kingfish ,
the largest going one and one-half
pounds , sizea ble for the specie.

The new craft , Prosit , seen at
the Yellow Bar on Friday is owned
by Bill Entenmann. He and
brother Bob hauled in 18 blues ,
chumming. Trolling at the Inlet
aboard the Sukie on Friday,Carl
Classen, Jr , boated four bass,
the largest going 15 pounds. The
Inlet m ist have been a busy place
Friday because regulars Alan
Karp, Eric Ramsay and Vic Young
trolled the spot and brought home
31 bass, largest weighingabout 12
pounds.

Neck Sportsmen 's Club was
tickled pink with his catch of
seven fluke , largest four pounds ,
brough t aboard Hell Razors. Not
sizeable but Bud Griffin suspicions they might have been the

The Sta r Class competition for the Corry Cup, once one of the
most publicized sailing events on Great South Bay , was held over
the weekend off Sayville with Hartwell (Bucky)Moore in Mavourneen
the winner . Moore had two second s behind Anson Beard , Jr . of
Islip in Tsunami , on Saturday , then won the final race of the series
on Sunday to edge Beard out by one point .
Beard was fourth in Sunday 's race behind Steve Andrews in No.
4067 and Walte r Brachtel in Avocet . Brachte l wound up third in the
final standings.
