THE 410 BRIDGE - HAITI PRE-TRIP DESCRIPTIVE ITINERARY
1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as
faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Each 410 Bridge mission trip will have its own unique schedule of work, events and activities. As we learn
more about the teams gifts and talents and the needs of our 410 Communities we create a unique itinerary that
serves both our church partners and the communities they will serve. Each trip will vary from one community
to the next. One thing they all have in common is building bridges of relationship between our culture and the
Haitian culture.
Below is a descriptive itinerary. This itinerary will enable you and your team to experience a typical
Haiti Service Trip, sprinkled with a little humor
DAY 1
Meet team and depart from hometown
Pray with team members, not that you arrive safely but that God do a great work in their hearts
Enjoy airline food and an in-flight movie starring Jackie Chan
Learn more about your team members
Ask flight attendant for extra pillow and get some sleep
Touch down in a foreign country and collect your luggage
Meet 410 Bridge Haiti Staff Member and driver
Experience with all your senses the best of Haitian traffic: Colorful “tap taps” the Haitian version of the taxi
More traffic full of horns, strange sounds and motorcycles carrying up to four people on one motorcycle
Take in a whole new world
Pray: That God will use you in amazing ways to connect with the Haitian people you will be serving and help you focus on
staying flexible for whatever is needed
DAY 2
Brush teeth with bottled water
Enjoy a great Haitian breakfast at your guesthouse
Arrive at the community where you will be working
Avoid all unhealthy giving; it is tempting when faced with neediness
Focus on developing relationships; remember the face of a child, learn their name and personal story
Step out of your comfort zone
Show Godʼs love to someone youʼve never met before
Pray: That your focus would be on “who,” not “what” during your time in Haiti
DAY 3
Keep an open mind to whatever God brings your way
If itʼs Sunday, attend a lively Haitian church service
Share many smiles with young and old faces
Take a picture of donkeys walking alongside the road. Donʼt taunt them! They can be a bit stubborn.
Pray: That God would equip and encourage you to overcome fears and reservations regarding your time

DAY 4
Work side-by-side with members of the community to better his or her environment
Keep cool, drink plenty of ice cold bottled water provided by our 410 Haiti staff
Hear the phrase “Bonjou” outside of a French film
Dig a ditch, invest in children, work on a clean water solution, or help out with a community coffee micro-enterprise
Take a break and get to know a member of the community a little better
Discover ways God has uniquely gifted you for this occasion
Use your fifth bottle of Purrell, consider getting professional help for your germ phobia
Pray: That you would have the opportunity to extend Godʼs grace in many unique ways
DAY 5
Be impressed with the strength and work ethic of Haitian men and women
Futilely try to keep up with them
Keep cool, drink plenty of ice cold bottled water provided by our 410 Haiti staff
Discover that they can do the work without us but itʼs better to do it with us
Shine the light of Christ in as many Haitian lives as possible
Pray: That hope will be evident to your team and community members alike because of the work Christ is doing in Haiti… and
that God would remove your desire for ice and air conditioning
DAY 6
Love liberally
Give lots of hugs to Haitians
Pray for Haitian communities, and the nations wounded by devastation
Play football, blow bubbles, face paint and participate in other silly games with Haitian kids
Finally give up trying to explain how American football is different
Promise yourself youʼll come back again and again and again
Pray: That God will be glorified through all the work you, your team, and your Haitian family members are doing in the
community
DAY 7
Travel through more traffic and bumpy roads to the airport
Take in the beautiful gift of air conditioning
Watch another in-flight film starring Jackie Chan
Share experiences with fellow team members of building relationships with so many new Haitian friends
Treasure the memories you made and the bonds you formed with people in a totally different culture
Pray: That the physical and spiritual work you begin here would continue long past the duration of your trip, and that you will
take what God taught you on your Haitian experience and share it with others
ARRIVE HOME:
Touch down in your native country and complete your 410 trip survey
Share incredible stories of how the experiences changed your life
Brush your teeth with tap water
Dream of your next trip back
Find ways to stay connected with your 410 Bridge Community
Pray: That God will never let you forget your new Haitian family members, and that you would continue to serve them on this
side of the bridge
