• How much longer is the lifespan of an elephant than a rhinoceros?
Find the bars labeled Elephant and Rhinoceros.
The bar labeled Elephant stops at 50. So, an elephant lives an average of 50
years. The bar labeled Rhinoceros stops halfway between 20 and 30. So, a
rhinoceros lives an average of 25 years. Find the difference: 50 – 25 = 25.
So, an elephant has an average lifespan that is 25 years longer than that of a
rhinoceros.
