Position Summary:
Under the direction of the relevant Site Coordinator and in line with organisational objectives:
Actively engage and assist Participants with a disability, permanent injury or health condition to deliver
employment services to gain sustainable employment. Service delivery will include assessing
Participants’ capability, building capacity through training and work readiness activities, direct marketing
to Employers, appropriate Job Placement and post placement support, reviewing and monitoring
Participant progress.

Key Result Areas
KRA 1: Participant related


Evaluate Participants’ work readiness and address barriers to employment through referrals to appropriate
vocational / non-vocational programs / services.
Develop employment solutions to meet Participants’ individualise circumstances and which address
Participants’ disability, level of disadvantage and vocational / non-vocational barriers to employment.
Assist Participants to develop/improve resumes and interview skills.
Develop and regularly update Participant Job Plans which reflect individual circumstances and comply with all
relevant guidelines.
Manage Participant Mutual Obligation requirements and monitor participation.
Actively and independently engage in direct marketing of Participants to Employers for appropriate Job
Placement in sustainable employment.
Identify ‘work ready’ Participants and work collaboratively with the NorthStar Employer Engagement
Coordinator (EEC) for direct marketing and/or EEC brokered vacancies.
Maintain up to date knowledge of labour market and training trends in the local, regional contexts, as well as
within specific Employers and industries.
Collaboratively work with Site Staff to meet agreed individual Key Performance Indicators as specified by
NorthStar.
Ensure all required documentation, including relevant documentary evidence is provided within required the
timeframe, complying with any and all relevant DES-ESS guidelines.
Adhere to and work in accordance with the National Standards for Disability Services and Department of
Human Services Standards.
Promote the dignity, independence and rights of each participant by adhering to the Disability Discrimination
Act, the Workplace Relations Act, Equal Opportunity Legislation, National Standards for Disability Services and
other relevant legislations.
Represent NorthStar and Oriel Services in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Conduct other duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time.



















Undertake reasonable care for your own safety and act in a manner that does not place your own health and
safety or that of others at risk.
Comply with all health and safety and injury management legislative requirements.
Comply with Oriel Services Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
Participate in any health and safety training as required and implement.
Use any personal protective equipment and safety devices correctly as directed.
Do not intentionally or recklessly misuse or interfere with items provided for health and safety reasons.
Undertake only those tasks for which you have been authorised and/or received required training and for
which all necessary safety arrangements are in place.
Competencies
Qualifications and Experience
Highly desirable:
 Proven experience in the Employment Services Industry
 Certificate IV in Employment Services and/or Career Development
 Proven experience in reverse marketing job seekers to Employers in tailored positions
Desirable:
 Experience in working with people with disability
 Experience in sales and/or customer service role








Ability to work in a team environment to collaboratively achieve required outcomes
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to cold canvass employers for suitable employment opportunities, reverse market individual Participants, and
negotiate appropriate Job Placements

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Computer literacy

Understanding of Employment Services Sector is desirable
