Things to do: Parque de Buen Retiro (Retiro Park) This is park is close to the hotel and has a Crystal Palace, Small Museum (an extension of the Reina Sofia), Boat rides, Food vendors, etc. Paseo del Prado Just a few blocks from the Hotel Agumar is a beautiful tree lined stroll with many museums including Reina Sofia Museum, Caixa Forum (with it’s vertical garden), Prado Museum, Thyssen Museum, fountains, the Royal Botanical Gardens, and Retiro Park. Real Madrid soccer fans may also tour the Bernabéu Stadium. Puerta del Sol The metro station Sol is surrounded with great shopping and restaurants. Don’t miss the Kilometer 0 stone (all streets in Spain begin here) or the Bear and “Madroño” Tree sculpture (the symbol of Madrid). Plaza Mayor and Mercado San Miguel Plaza Mayor is in the heart of Madrid with restaurants, a square, and shopping. Nearby is the Mercado San Miguel, a recently restored market with culinary delights. Palacio Real and Royal Opera House A bit further away from the hotel is the Royal Palace. Just across the beautiful square is the Royal Opera House.
