Kindergarten Newsletter
Reading Record
The story from the series we read
this week was What can you do with
Paleta? We learned that paleta is
Spanish for popsicles! This week we
also read a different gingerbread
story each day! We read: The
Gingerbread Boy, The Gingerbread
Girl, Gingerbread Baby, and
Gingerbread Friends. We then did a
class graph and voted for what story
was our favorite. On Wednesday we
created our own gingerbread and on
Friday we did a taste test. We also
talked about the beginning, middle,
and end of each book.
Math Minutes
This week we started Topic 6: Numbers
to 100. The lessons this week had us
counting to 30, estimating, filling in
numbers on a hundreds chart, and
counting by tens. Our math centers
continued addition practice.

with your child. They will also have a set
here at school that they will keep in

Writing Wrap-Up
In handwriting we wrote letters Oo and
Qq.
We were so proud of the student’s
writing this week. The students wrote a
sentence about the beginning of The
Gingerbread Girl. We also came up with
our own endings for these stories!

Next Week’s Highlights
Liam was the star of the week this
week and we loved learning more
about him. We learned that his
favorite food is bacon. Liam also
likes Captain America, dogs, cars,
trucks, and playing Minecraft. We
also learned that he has a
trampoline that he likes to jump on!
Lastly, Liam is excited for Christmas
(his favorite holiday) and his
birthday follows shortly after on
January 7th!
