Fifth-wheels are allowed; however, the truck must park in general parking. No vehicles, tents, or barbecue grill utility trailers are allowed to park in place of a motor home in the reserved motor home area. Exhaust fumes are dangerous and annoying to other tailgaters; consequently, all motor homes are required to have exhaust extensions that reach the top of the motor home. For the safety of everyone, motor homes without an extension should not operate a generator. This also applies to generators used by fifth-wheelers. Two (2) hangtags will be issued per motor home area (one for motor home and one for vehicle). Hangtags must be visible through the front windshield of the motor home and vehicle at all times. RV tailgaters must have an RV on the spot. The spot cannot be used if an RV is not being used for that game due to liability reasons. RVs must be parked within each individual space. RVs cannot be arranged in a group to create an open area between RVs. Vehicles with the appropriate hangtag will be allowed to park in the vehicle spaces in the RV lot. Vehicles will not be allowed to park in the RV spaces at any time. Blocking access to other motor home spots will result in immediate towing. Do not leave vehicle unattended. Guests of the reserved motor home area must park in general parking or RCAF lots with appropriate parking passes. It is the responsibility of the reserved motor home holder to inform guests. SET-UP AND DEPARTURE TIMES: So as not to infringe on student parking or other Athletic Department events and practices, reserved motor homes can begin setting up after 5:00 PM on the Friday before a Saturday home game. Reserved motor home areas must be cleared by Sunday at 5:00 PM. TRAFFIC FLOW: RV passes must enter through Gate 4 of the parking lot (closest to the corner of Congress and Cajundome Boulevard). RVs will turn right into the appropriate aisle and then back into the RV spot. The RV spots are angled for your convenience. RVs will drive out and exit out of Gate 3 (across from University Hospital). PARKING: Parking will be allowed in the RV lot for vehicles with RV parking passes. Vehicles must park in the designated vehicle parking spaces in the North Endzone RV lots. Vehicles must not block access to the RV spots. In addition, vehicles cannot be parked in the RV spots. Parking for all other vehicles must be in RCAF parking lots with the appropriate pass (A, B, C, or D) in general parking. SEE GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR MOTOR HOMES AND TAILGATING (Pages 5-9). 3 RESERVED TAILGATING INFORMATION RESERVED TAILGATING AREA RULES AND REGULATIONS: Two (2) hangtags will be issued per reserved tailgating space. Hangtags must be visible through the front windshield of the vehicle at all times while dropping off. This helps our Event Management staff in assisting you with any problems that may arise. Vehicles without hangtags will not be allowed into the reserved tailgating area to drop off. No vehicles with TG access passes will be allowed in the parking lots after 6 hours prior to game time, unless otherwise noted. Check Ragincajuns.com Game Day Central for road closure times specific to each game. Blocking access to other tailgating spots will result in immediate towing. Do not leave vehicle unattended. Guests of reserved tailgaters must park in RCAF lots with the appropriate pass (A, B, C or D) or in general parking located behind the Hilton Garden Inn. It is the responsibility of the reserved tailgating holders to notify guests. SET-UP AND DEPARTURE TIMES: So as not to infringe on other Athletic Department events and practices, reserved tailgaters can begin setting up after 2:00 PM on the Friday before a Saturday home game. Reserved tailgating areas must be cleared by Monday at 5:00 PM. TRAFFIC FLOW: Reinhardt Drive and Stadium Row (near Gate C) will close to vehicular traffic no earlier than 6 hours prior to game time. Once closed, all TG passes will be directed into general parking. No left turn is allowed from Bertrand Drive (at Gates 1 and 2) or from Congress Street (at Gates 3 and 4) into Cajun Field. In order to help with traffic flow into Cajun Field parking lots, TG passes must use designated entrances: TG1 passes enter using Gate 1, TG2 and TG3 passes enter using Gate 2, TG4 passes enter using Gate 4, and TG8 passes enter using Gate 3. PARKING: Parking is not allowed in any tailgating spot. Tailgate passes will be allowed to access tailgating spots up 6 hours prior to game time, unless otherwise noted. Vehicles with TG passes will not be allowed in after this point and will have to park in RCAF lots with appropriate RCAF pass (A, B, C, or D) or in general parking without an RCAF pass. Once items are dropped off, vehicles must park in general parking or in RCAF lots with the appropriate parking pass (A, B, C, or D). The RCAF pass must be visible once parked. Vehicles parked in tailgating spots or RCAF lots with a TG pass will be towed. For information regarding Small Campers/Travel-Trailers, Tents, Tent Set-up/Take-Down Schedule, see GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR MOTOR HOMES AND TAILGATING (Pages 5-9). 4 GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS for Motor Homes and Tailgaters As the space holder, you are responsible for informing your guests of the rules and regulations pertaining to tailgating and agree to abide by the guidelines. ACCESS PASSES LOST ACCESS PASSES WILL NOT BE REISSUED. Access passes are GAME-BY-GAME passes. Access passes identify you as having an RV or tailgating spot and allow you access in and out of the areas for set-up. TG passes will not be allowed in after road closures (no earlier than 6 hours prior to game time). Check the Game Day Central page on Ragincajuns.com for specific times of the road closure and cutoff time for TG pass access. Vehicles with TG access passes coming from RCAF parking lots will be allowed back into the tailgating areas once it is deemed safe by parking enforcement. Vehicles with TG access passes coming from general parking will have to wait approximately 30 minutes to return into the Cajun Field parking lots based on traffic flow at the end of the game. ADVERTISING, FOR-PROFIT, POLITICAL ACTIVITIES Tailgating is an event designed for fans to celebrate the tradition of Ragin’ Cajuns football. Please do not disturb this atmosphere by using the event to market a product, service, or for-profit business. Companies may not sell or provide food, drink, or other items to the general public without the written permission of the Athletic Department. Political fundraising at University-sponsored events is prohibited as such events may jeopardize the University’s tax exempt status under section 115 and 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Tax Code. While the University does not prohibit political speech under the First Amendment, political signage that implies endorsement of any political candidate or any political issue may not be displayed nor may political materials be distributed without prior approval by Louisiana. The University seeks to balance First Amendment rights with its obligation to eliminate or reduce activities that significantly detract from fans’ enjoyment of the event. The University will not allow itself to be perceived as endorsing a political candidate or issue. Events or actions that disrupt tailgating will be prohibited. BBQ GRILLS/UTILITY TRAILERS Barbecue utility trailers are allowed within perimeter of the reserved motor home and reserved tailgating areas (NOTE! In the motor home area, a motor home must be present.) The unit cannot extend into emergency access alleyways or limestone parking areas. 5 CATERERS Caterers must have proper access permits to be admitted to private tailgating areas and must adhere to the same rules regarding alleyways, emergency access lanes, etc., as our tailgaters. COURTESY Events or actions that disrupt other tailgating will be prohibited. Please be respectful and considerate of your fellow Ragin’ Cajuns fans (i.e., noise, music). EMERGENCY LANES Emergency access lanes must be maintained at all times. Do not block alleyways or emergency lanes. FIRE SAFETY Fires are allowed only in above-ground, enclosed containers (chimineas, barbecue pits, firepits only with a grill on top, etc.). Extinguish all flames and coals prior to leaving your area to attend the game. Do not throw coals or ashes in dumpsters or garbage cans. Reserved motor home fans and reserved tailgaters must take coals and ashes with them when leaving Cajun Field. Event Management reserves the right to monitor and direct the use of open flames. GARBAGE/WASTE: Large garbage cans and recycling cans dumpsters are provided in every tailgating and RV spot. Properly dispose of garbage. Waste food items and garbage should be sealed in plastic garbage bags and placed in cans or dumpsters provided in and around the motor home and tailgating areas. Please help University staff keep RV and tailgating areas clean by cleaning up your individual area at the end of the evening. Hazardous materials of any kind (fuel, paint, cleaning supplies, etc.) may not be placed in cans or dumpsters or otherwise dumped on University property. Motor homes and campers may not dump their sewer or water tanks into the University’s sanitary sewer lines, its restrooms or anywhere on the University’s property. The University reserves the right to regularly inspect all applicable tailgating sites. If evidence of any dumping is discovered, the tailgater will be charged for all environmental clean-up costs. GENERATORS Exhaust fumes are dangerous and annoying to other tailgaters; consequently, generators must be properly ventilated toward emergency lanes or upward and away from neighboring tailgaters. If a motor home is located in a tailgating space, it must be properly ventilated with an exhaust extension kit that reaches the top of the motor home. For the safety of everyone, motor homes without an extension are not allowed. This also applies to generators used by fifth-wheelers. Event Management has the right to monitor, direct, or prohibit the use of generators. GLASS CONTAINERS: The use of glass containers is prohibited. MOTORIZED CARTS: Motorized carts of any kind are prohibited in all Cajun Field parking lots and tailgating areas. This includes golf carts, four wheelers, motorized scooters, and any other type of motorized cart. MUSIC: As a courtesy to other Ragin’ Cajuns fans, music must be respectful to fellow tailgaters. Anything larger than a small personal sound system to be used in tailgating or RV spot has to have prior approval from the Athletics Department. Bands and PA systems are strictly prohibited in all areas at Cajun Field. Event Management reserves the right to prohibit. PARKING: RV pass holders will be allowed to park one vehicle with the additional RV pass in the designated vehicle parking spaces in the RV lot. The other RV pass must be visible on the motor home. Vehicles with RV passes will be allowed to park within the RV spot. If spotholders choose to not park within the RV spot, RV vehicle parking is allowed in the second row of car spots. See the RV map at www.ragincajuns.com/footballtailgating for more details. TG pass holders are not allowed to park in tailgating spots. All vehicles with TG passes must proceed to park in general parking or can park in the designated RCAF lot with the appropriate pass (A, B, C, or D). The RCAF parking pass must be visible when entering the lot. Parked vehicles must not obstruct the flow of traffic in either direction or impede access to walkways by pedestrians. 7 Parking is prohibited at all times in the following areas: o In grassy areas (unless they are designated for parking). o Along the gravel roads and any other areas deemed inappropriate by Event Management. o On parking lot islands, medians, and berms (the shoulder of streets). o Along the fringe area of the reserved tailgating lots along Reinhardt Drive. o In another reserved motor home or any reserved parking areas/lots. (If a vehicle is parked in a reserved location and does not have the proper access pass displayed, that vehicle will be towed.) Parking areas must be cleared by Sunday at 5:00 PM Vehicles found in violation of the above regulations will be towed. If your vehicle is towed for any reason, contact University Police 482-6447. PARKING (OVERNIGHT): Vehicles of registered tailgaters and RV spotholders can park overnight with their pass. PUBLIC RESTROOMS: Port-O-Let facilities are available in locations convenient to all reserved motor home and tailgater areas. Please do not move Port-O-Lets for any reason. Port-O-Lets on individual lots must follow the “TENT SET-UP AND PICK-UP SCHEDULE” (Page 8). If any Port-O-Lets provided by the Athletics Department are found in tailgating spots, the spotholder will be charged the game rental fee. SECURITY: The safety and security of personal property is the sole responsibility of its owner. The University cannot provide security for personal property left in tailgating areas. Do not leave personal property unattended. Secure your area prior to entering the stadium by doing the following: o lock food, beverages and valuables out of sight in your vehicle; o extinguish all fires or flames; o unplug electrical outlets; o secure barbecue pits, chairs, ice chests, generators; and o store alcoholic beverages in locked containers. SMALL CAMPER/TRAVEL-TRAILERS: Small campers must fit within the perimeter of the marked lot from bumper to hitch (including the hitch). TENTS: The people that are registered for the tailgating spot are solely responsible for any and all tents placed within that area and any liability that these tents may cause others. This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused to other people or property from the tent becoming unanchored, regardless of the cause of such an incident (act of God, insufficient anchoring system, etc.). The registered tailgater is responsible for ensuring that all tents are properly and sufficiently anchored. Tents and any objects used to anchor/support the tents must fall within the perimeter of the marked location. In the reserved motor home parking area, tents are allowed with sandbags, weighted blocks, or weighted buckets only. No holes are allowed to be drilled in the asphalt. In the motor home area, a motor home must be present. Motor homes AND tents must fall within the perimeter of the marked location. 8 TENT ANCHORS/STAKES: University officials have observed several instances of tent stakes being driven into the ground over painted utility markings. These markings are provided to alert you of potentially very dangerous electrical, natural gas, or other utility lines located below the surface of the ground. Because of this, tent stakes may not be driven within 18" of any utility marking. Any tent found in violation of this policy will be removed at the tailgater's expense. (See costs and contact information for impounded tents below.) The University strongly encourages all tailgaters to utilize weights (buckets of water, sand, metal weights, etc) in lieu of driving stakes when anchoring tents around the utility markings. Those with reserved tailgating areas are expected to ensure that all policies are followed. Tailgaters should also be considerate of their neighbors, especially those with children. To ensure the appropriate environment is maintained, the Athletic Department reserves the right to revoke the tailgating privileges of any individual(s). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9
