Our relationship is not what it used to be. Indirect interrogative sentence ( wh + SV ) Review : Do you know why she is angry? / Whatever you do makes me upset. / Whether he’s honest or not is not important. / I don’t care whose fault it was or who did what. I asked him if he was interested in working for us. Advanced : Our relationship is not what it used to be. / Who do you think you are to talk like that? Words / Expressions Direction : Listen and repeat after your instructor. find fault with(あら探しをする) l You can’t help finding fault with me. unproductive(利益のない・効果のない) It’s so unproductive. expose(暴く・ばらす) What you have been doing is exposed. no longer(もはや~ない) I can no longer take it. belongings(所持品) Pack your few belongings and leave. insecure(不安な・心もとない) I can’t stand you being insecure all the time. burden(重荷・負担) Don’t talk to me as if I were your burden. It seems like Sophia and Steven are having an argument. Sophia : I heard you were shopping with an attractive girl the other day. Steven : Oh this again? You just can’t help finding fault with me, can you? Why don’t you concentrate on your school work or hobby or something? Sophia : Who do you think you are to talk to me like that? Our relationship is not what it used to be all because of you. Steven : It doesn’t matter whose fault it was or who did what. I’m just so tired of being accused and grilled for silly things like this. It’s just so unproductive and unhealthy. Sophia : What you have been doing and all your ridiculous lies are exposed and you are still not even admitting anything. I can no longer take this. Steven : Neither can I. Why don’t you pack what few belongings you have and leave? I can’t stand your being insecure all the time anyway. Sophia : Don’t talk to me as if I were your burden or something. I am leaving.
