Pronghorn Racing
the ultimate in XC / ENDURO bike technology
Developed as the ultimate
Pronghorn Racing is a radically new approach to the develop
ment, design and marketing of ultra-high-performance XC
mountain bikes.
We’re rewriting the textbook on what can be achieved via
an intense focus and an unstoppable drive. We’re determined
to be the best and the geekiest in the business, and to create
the best specialist mountain bike products in the world.
We only work with the best industrial designers, specialist
engineers and technicians, and small-volume/high-quality
manufacturing operations. We swap hands-on test feedback
with key achievers in mountain biking – worldwide. And we
only work with high-impact retailers determined to provide
their customers with significantly better products, based on
a radically different philosophy that really makes waves.
Visible difference
no smokescreens, no exaggerations, no trying to impress or
confuse buyers. That’s why we put the key specs of each part
right on it – and in big, proud Pronghorn-style numbers.
We’ve developed a completely new take on some of the key
ideas in mountain bike technology. For the experienced eye,
these differences stick out a mile – and we like that.
A meeting of minds
No big fancy organization,– just a meeting of minds deter
mined to provide products that stand out from the crowd,
crafted by experts who insist on doing things the best pos
sible way – always.
At Pronghorn Racing, you always talk to the key people.
We’ve done away with corporate flab, and focus on only in
volving the best brains in the business. Part of this means
being honest, direct and open about our products. If you need
to know something, get hold of us – we’ll tell you.
What we say about Pronghorn Racing products is always true,
pronghorn – speed over distance
The cheetah and the pronghorn antelope are the world’s fastest land animals. Each achieves its incredible speed because of highly evolved – but very different
– biomechanics. The cheetah is well known – the pronghorn antelope is not. The cheetah is a short-distance sprinter with a flexible body and a very long stride,
focused solely on speed. By contrast, the body of the pronghorn antelope is primed for exceptional endurance and high speed over long distances. It has evolved an
aerobic ability that enables it to burn oxygen with unique efficiency, and at a very high rate. Cheetahs and pronghorns have both been clocked at speeds of over
100 km/hour – but only the pronghorn can keep going at such high speeds for a long time.

Anti - Power Loss System (A.P.L.S.)
The patent-pending Anti-Power Loss System (A.P.L.S.) developed by Pronghorn Racing consists of a series of highly innovative design features and technologies. Together, these provide you with a significantly more efficient way to get from A to
B – faster.
a
This unique system consists of a specially designed
linkage with the shock mounted over the top tube, de
signed to reduce power loss both on the flat and uphill.
This mounting for the shock makes for a more rigid rear tri
angle. The combination with the new linkage design ensures
a more horizontally distribution of the energy, meaning you
don’t need an additional platform shock to reduce the pedal
bob.
A shock in this position also gives you easy access to lock
outs while riding, and does away with any need for remote
lockout access systems. The Pronghorn Racing A.P.L.S. sys
tem lets you use the exact type of shock you prefer.
B
The A.P.L.S. set-up features a special reinforced seat
stay with the rear drop-out section welded directly
onto it. This gives greater strength and enables you to use
the horstlink more efficiently.
This unique design means we’ve been able to move the
chain stay link closer to the bottom bracket. The payoff is
that you lose less power when pedalling over rough terrain.
They listen!
»I like the fact that this is a complete new
concept that features both new products and a
refreshingly different marketing approach.
One thing I really like is that these Pronghorn
guys put a lot of energy into asking people like me
about the details that matter. They know what’s important for us – we’re all experts who’re basically on
the same wavelength. And they really do listen, and then
make adjustments based on our input and experience.
It’s great to run into a company with their kind of stellar ambition – run by people who’re dead keen to pick up on anything that can
be tweaked. But only if it makes it better. I’ve seen the way they don’t release
anything until it’s at least 100%, as far as they’re concerned.
The Pronghorn Racing products that I’ve had my hands on have been dead easy for us mechanics
to service – swapping the freehub bodies on Pronghorn Racing wheels is a cinch, for example. This saves us
precious time. Basically, they’re designed to really take a beating – and I’m happy ‘cos I only have to service
them – not repair them!«

Performance – just the beginning
Exceptional performance is an absolute requirement for
all Pronghorn Racing products. Exceptional specs are es
sential for achieving this, and our unique design is one of
the ways we tell the cognoscenti what’s going on.
Yes, some things could perhaps be a wee bit lighter,
for example. But weight reductions can mean a trade-off
with other key performance criteria that are even more
important. The crucial thing is getting the best perfor
manc
Hammered and bashed
Once they’re EN approved, we send all Pronghorn Racing
products to independent, specialist testing centres that
really know how to hammer mountain bike parts.
We’ve also got pro competitors as well as top-notch
non-pros and intensely critical magazine review experts
pushing our products to the limit, and then reporting
back. Test results and reviews are at www.pronghorn
racing.com.
Putting it all together
We sell our specialist products via our web site as well
as with the help of a limited number of very carefully
selected retailers.
If there isn’t a Pronghorn Racing retailer near you
(yet!), send us an e-mail with your phone number. Then
we’ll call you to talk about how best to help you.
