French students take a trip to the Getty!
Students from RCHS and ACHS enjoyed a French class trip together on March
15th. They explored the traveling Louis XIVth tapestries from the 1600s as well as
French baroque and rococo furniture pieces and other works of art at the Getty.
Students enjoyed French food and desserts (quiche, creme brûlée, macaroons,
etc) at Champagne Bakery in Thousand Oaks.
MONARCHS PBL Team attends Leadership Academy:
On March 14th through the 16th, the PBL Team of Krista Wolf, Sean Blumenthal, Russell
Gibbs, Jill Dahl and Matt Phelan visited High Tech High in San Diego, CA to obtain more
training and knowledge to develop more meaningful and supportive PBL curricula in
the classrooms at RCHS. The team was also joined by Roger Adams and Roxanne
Steinkamp for the first day activities. The PBL Team had the opportunity to work with
other educators in workshops and participate in an interactive live panel discussion with
HTH teachers and staff.
March Madness hits the RCHS Kingdom:
RCHS Faculty & Staff vs. RCHS students face off in the final game of our first Intramural
Basketball game. It was a great day with all the student body clubs sponsoring a food
booth fundraiser. Young Life had pizza for sale, SAGA sold mini corn dogs and
potatoes, Kiwinns held a bake sale and many more.
