WALK: Don’t miss Rome’s Via Margutta. This little
back alley between the Spanish Steps and the
Piazza del Popolo was the backdrop of Gregory
Peck’s apartment in the 1953 film “Roman Holiday.”
LEARN: The 14th-century house, Palazzo
Davanzati, is a stunning example of Florence
architecture.
SHOP: Mercato Centrale is a Florentine market
that supplies many restaurants. Take out
sandwiches from one of the outdoor stalls or olive
oil and dried porcini mushrooms to take home.
