Welcome Back
I hope you have all had a lovely break and return to school refreshed and looking
forward to another exciting half term.
It is also a pleasure to welcome back Mrs Harrison to the teaching team.
Sharing Assemblies
Well done to all the children in Willow Class and Chestnut Class for two brilliant
sharing assemblies. It is amazing to see and hear about all the learning that is
taking place around the school!
The next sharing assembly will be for Lime Class on 14th March.
Story Telling Week
We have an exciting time planned next week to celebrate
story telling week. Each year group will be working on a
different focus and there will be sharing throughout the whole
school. We will recognise World Book Day on Thursday and
the children will receive a £1 book token. (We are not dressing up this year.) On
Friday we are asking children to bring a comfy cushion and their
favourite book to school so the whole school can enjoy a reading session
together. This was a very special event last year. Parents are encouraged to talk
to their class teacher if they are available to come in and read with the children.
Curriculum Evening – The story of maths in our
school – a very informative session
This will take place in the school hall on Tuesday 11th
March at 7.00pm. Look out for the letter next week.
School Photos
Please ensure you return your school photo orders to your child’s teacher no
later than 7th March 2014. Late orders can be sent directly to the company but
will incur an additional charge.
SEAL Theme
The SEAL theme for this half term is “Good to Be Me”. This theme explores
children’s feelings. It helps develop self-awareness and self-worth. It also helps
them to think about how their feelings can affect their behaviour.
School Comms – Gateway App
We have been asked to let you know that the
School Comms Gateway App is being upgraded
in March and will look different – please do not
be alarmed, it will still work in the same way.
Dog Waste
Dog fouling around the roads to the School is becoming an issue. If
your dog comes with you on the school run please ensure you are a
responsible dog owner and bag it, tie it, bin it. Dog mess can be put
in normal bins and not just a dog bin. Thank you for your
cooperation.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
We are collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers again this year. If
you have any to donate, please put them in the collection
box in the entrance hall. Thank you!
Nursery Applications
The deadline for applications for a Nursery place is Friday 21st March. We still
have a number of tours for prospective parents so if you know of anyone who
may be interested please ask them to contact the school office.
Request from School Council
The School Council has noticed that there are a number of children playing on
the equipment after school and asked that I remind you all not to allow your
children to play on the school equipment.
