LETTY`S BAG SUPPLY LIST

LETTY’S BAG SUPPLY LIST
Inst: Claudia Wolf
1. Machine (cleaned, oiled and in good working condition) to include all normal sewing accessories
(foot control, power cord, slide on tray if your machine has one and the owner’s manual.)
2. “Letty’s Bag” pattern by Robin Gallagher (available at Margie’s).
3. Fabric Requirements:
A. Bag outside: 2/3 yard
B. Bag lining: 2/3 yard
C. Strap: 1/3 yard
D. Inside pockets: 1/2 yard (please note instructions below as this is different from the pattern.
I did not include the cell phone pocket in the sample bags at the store.)
E. Outside pocket: two fat quarters
F. Bottom insert: 1/4 yard (optional)
G. Fusible fleece: two yards
4. Needle: Size 80/12 jeans needle
5. Thread: Construction thread to blend with your fabric choices (mettler polyester is an excellent
choice).
6. Feet:
A. A walking foot. If you do not have a walking foot for your machine, we will be happy to loan
you one for the class. If you do not own a Bernina or Janome machine, you will need to bring your
machine to the store prior to class so we can see if we have one that will work with your machine.
B. If your machine has dual feed or accufeed this will suffice for a walking foot.
7. Additional Supplies
A. Decorative button for the outside pocket.
B. Grommets: one package of size 1 9/16” for bag size shown on the pattern.
D. Glass head straight pins.
E. Scissors.
F. Fabric glue (optional)
8. PRIOR TO CLASS: Follow the cutting instructions in the pattern purchased for class. Please have
all fabric cut before the start of class and fleece fused to your fabric pieces as noted in the pattern. No
time will be allotted during class for cutting or fusing.
9. Note: I did not include the cell phone pocket in the samples. For the inside pockets cut one piece
12” by the width of the fabric, fold in half and press. Cut fusible fleece 6” by the width of the fleece
and fuse to the wrong side of your 12” width of the fabric piece. Be sure to snug the fleece up close
to the fold.
10. If you have any questions about the pattern cutting instructions, please call me at 496-6128. Bring
all leftover fabric with you to class.
