Dear Families,
I feel very fortunate to be writing the newsletter this week and sharing our successes with you.
Today is World Teachers’ Day and I would like to acknowledge all of our Franklin Staff who work so hard
each day to ensure our school is successful. Many thanks to our P & C who provided a beautiful
morning tea and gift basket for the staff. It is nice to be acknowledged for the work we do.

Well done to our year 2 leaders, Hannah, Xavier, Kayleen, Aiden and Bachitar, pictured below.
These students have worked diligently as our first group of Sports Leaders to hand out and collect equipment
during outdoor play periods. Well done!
Many thanks as well to Michael Lemmey and the students from Gungahlin College who provided a rich experience
for our kindergarten students yesterday. The students had produced their own books as part of their English
course and they came to share their illustrated texts with us. The Franklin students really enjoyed the learning
experience, as you can see from the photos below.

Finally, huge congratulations to Annette Evans, our Community Coordinator, who was nominated for a 2016
Children’s Week Community Award. Well done Annette. Her citation reads as follows:
