APPLICATION FEE
Upon submission of an application, the student agrees to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 application fee. This will
be billed via USD Student Accounts and should be paid directly to USD. This amount is charged regardless of any
application fees paid directly to a host university or program provider.
TUITION
Tuition (12-18 units) is paid directly to USD. Students will be billed via USD Student Accounts. Tuition payment is
due in full 10 days prior to the program start date.
PROGRAM FEE/HOUSING
The housing fee is paid directly to John Cabot University. Students are billed via John Cabot University and
payments may be made online. To learn more about the exact cost, please visit the JCU Housing Options and
Prices webpage.
The housing fee includes :
John Cabot University pre-departure advising and visa information assistance
Housing in furnished apartment
Airport pick-up and transfer on program arrival day (subject to student arrival during designated pick-up times
on program start date)
On-site orientation and on-site staff
John Cabot University student services and university services
John Cabot University student activities, sports, and clubs
Supplemental Course Fees: Students will be responsible for paying any/all supplemental course fees charged by
John Cabot University. This includes but is not limited to art studio fees, lab fees, etc. This will be billed via USD
Student Accounts and should be paid directly to USD.
Supplemental Housing Fees: Students wishing to upgrade their housing arrangements will be charged an additional
fee as outlined by John Cabot University.
NOTE: Since USD students have the opportunity to use applicable financial aid and scholarships through USD
during their semester abroad at John Cabot University, USD students are not eligible for scholarships offered
directly through John Cabot University.
ADDITIONAL ESTIMATED EXPENSES
The following items are only estimates of additional expenses. These additional expenses could vary greatly
depending on the individual student's spending habits, restaurant choices, personal shopping and additional travel
plans.

Travel for Italian Student Visa Acquistition
Students are required to appear in person at the Italian Consulate General which has jurisdiction over
their permanent residence. Depending on the student's proximity to the consulate general, it is possible
the student will incur considerable travel expenses in pursuit of her/his student visa.
INTERNATIONAL INSURANCE
All students participating in a USD-affiliated study abroad program are covered by USD's international insurance
policy through ACE/EuropAssist. Coverage includes medical care and assistance as well as security assistance. For
