Metric System
The metric system is used worldwide and in all science laboratories
It is a measurement based on the number 10 or base 10.
example
10 = 1 x 10
100 = 1 x 10
1,000 = 1 x 10
10,000 = 1 x 10
100,000 = 1 x 10
1,000,000 = 1 x 10
0.1 = 1 x 10
0.01 = 1 x 10
0.001 = 1 x 10

Metric System
SI = International Systems of Units
Basic unit of length is the meter (m)
Basic unit of mass is the Kgram (g)
Basic unit of volume is the liter (L)
Prefixes that are used:
Kilo (K) means 1,000 times the unit.
Deci (d) means 1/10 or 0.1 unit
Centi (c) means 1/100 or 0.01 unit
Milli (m) means 1/000 or 0.001 unit

SI or the System International d'Unites
SI is the standard system of measurement that allows scientists to compare date and communicate with each other about their results.
Length is the distance between two objects. It is measured in meters
Mass is a measure of the amount of matter an object contains. It is measured in grams. We use a triplebeam balance by comparing the mass of the object you are measuring to a known mass.
Weight is the measure of gravitational force acting on the object. We use sa spring scale. It is measured in Newtons.
Volume is the amount of space an object takes up. It is also known as the shape of an object. It is measured in liters.
