On behalf of all staff we all greet you in good grace. We also hope that you are content and comfortable living at Leigh Place. May became the month to celebrate mothers! We honoured all women this mother’s day - aunties, care givers, friends and of course mothers. Everyone may have played a significant role in someone’s life as a mother figure and we celebrated this with a morning tea and a presentation of gifts in the afternoon. We hope you enjoy your personalised cups and we would like to take the time to thank you for the never ending task of being a loving mother/significant motherly figure. In June we will be supporting the cancer council and hosting our own Biggest Morning Tea! We ask for a gold coin donation at the door. Please refer to your activity calendar for times of all the wonderful activities we have planned! I was out walking with my 4-year-old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. “Why?” my daughter asked. “Because it’s been on the ground. You don’t know where it’s been, it’s dirty, and probably has germs,” I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, “Mummy, how do you know all this stuff? “You are so smart.” I was thinking quickly, “All Mums know this stuff. It’s on the Mum Test. You have to know it, or they don’t let you be a Mum.” We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. “Oh...I get it!” she beamed, “So if you don’t pass the test, you have to be the Dad!” “Exactly,” I replied. 6 Queen’s Quiz 1.
