Declaration of Major: Students may declare a Geology major any time after their admission to UNI. Once a student has selected the major, they should complete the Declaration of Curriculum form (available at the Earth Science office - 121 Latham) at which time students will be assigned an advisor. Recommended General Electives: 800:060 (MATH 1420) Calculus I and 800:061 (MATH 1421) Calculus II are recommended to be taken as general electives. Students with Excellent Preparation in Chemistry: May substitute 860:070 (CHEM 1130) for 860:044 (CHEM 1110) AND 860:048 (CHEM 1120). 870:129 (EARTHSCI 3310/EARTHSCI 5310) is only offered during even year spring semesters. This course must be taken before attending geology field camp. Summer Field Course Requirements to be met by credit earned at a field camp approved by the department.
