After the student finishes the books, they take a short quick on the computer to earn points. Prizes are awarded when a student reaches their point goal. Volunteers are needed to help with the list of books and the “Prize Store”, or other incentive program for the children. Volunteers will assist in advertising the sale, preparing and placing the order with our vendor in May and sorting and distributing the school supplies before Meet the Teacher Night in August. This committee will also be called on for special events that arise during the school year. Chair: Deanna Majeski - [email protected] Continuous Event 1 School Appearance: This committee is responsible for mulching, planting and keeping flower pots updated at the entrance to the school. Chair: Holly Miller – [email protected] Continuous Event School Website: This committee is responsible for making sure that all current PTO information is reflected on the school website including PTO Press, PTO Meeting Minutes, and any forms related to events that are happening at school. This committee will also organize the events for Teacher Appreciation Week in May. This committee will also be responsible for maintaining the coffee/sugar/creamer in the lounge for all staff members. The Box Tops generates cash for the PTO while the Campbell Soup products generate points used towards purchase of educational products for the school. Chair: Kathy Spiegel – [email protected] Continuous Event Restaurant Fundraisers: Work with local restaurants/businesses (i.e. Chick-fil-a, California Pizza Company, McAlisters, etc.) to arrange date/time of school fundraisers. Includes publicizing event with Ridge Meadows Families. Chair: Sharon Farrell – [email protected] Continuous Event SCRIP/E Scrip Program: This committee will sell gift cards for local stores during the Holiday season and other times throughout the year with a percentage of the total amount of the gift card sold given back to Ridge Meadows as a rebate. They will also be responsible for distributing all the E Scrip cards for the Schnucks grocery card program. This committee should not consist of Kindergarten parents, as they will want to be a part of the ceremony with their child. Chair: Lisa Delaloye One-Time Event: Spring Room Parties (Fall/Spring): Coordinates and plans grade level fall and spring class parties. Volunteers will advertise, organize and process registration forms. This is a family oriented gathering .Volunteers will assist in coordinating the movie aspects, help with set up, various duties during the picnic and clean up. Parent volunteers are needed to help with the auditions and rehearsals, decorating the set, and helping during the event. Chair: Julie Schowe – [email protected] & Jen Davey – [email protected] One-Time Event: Winter Fifth Grade Events: D.A.R.E Graduation: The committee is responsible for organizing the D.A.R.E Graduation for the 5th grade students (November – date TBD.) Chair: Shelly Nicozisin – [email protected] & Jackie Kowalski – [email protected] One-Time Event: Winter Fifth Grade Celebration: This committee is comprised of 5th grade parents and teachers. They will plan a year end celebration for their students. This event may include refreshments, games, memory books and social time. Activities will be jointly decided upon by the committee and 5th grade teachers.
