Know Your Rights!
IF POLICE COME TO YOUR HOUSE
DO NOT OPEN DOORS
• ICE can only enter a home if they have a signed warrant or
unless you let them in.
• Do not open the door until you have physically seen the warrant
• Make sure to tell them to pass the warrant under the door before you
let them in.
REPORT THE RAID
• Call our immigration hotline at 404-890-5655
• Take pictures if you can do so safely. You have the right to take
pictures.
• Document the incident as throughly as possible including the name,
badge numbers and physical descriptions of the law enforcement
officers.
REMAIN SILENT
• You have the right to remain silent - Say “I plead the fifth
amendment and choose to remain silent”
• Anyone in police custody must be told four things before being
questioned by the police (It’s your Miranda Warning):
1. You have the right to remain silent.
2. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
3. You have the right to an attorney.
4. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING
• Do not sign papers ICE may give you without first speaking with an
attorney
• Find a trusted lawyer to help your case.
