Transitioning from University to Professional Practice: An Interdisciplinary Mental Health Professional Development Academy The Academy is here to help you learn the skills that are essential to successful career development The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy is hosting a 16-hour Academy to augment your formal training and facilitate a smoother transition from school/college into the mental health workforce. This is for you if you are a: Psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, counselor, psychiatric nurse, in health policy, or other mental health professional. Join us to learn about the NYC public and private mental health system, what’s going on now in mental health, planning a career, thinking critically about culture, ethics, social justice and equity, and how to take care of yourself to prevent burnout. Location: CUNY SPH (55 W 125th St between the 2/3 and 4/5/6 trains) Dates: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, June 6, 8, 13, and 15 Course times: 3:30 Coffee and registration. 4pm-8pm workshop Cost: FREE for CUNY students and recent CUNY graduates (within 3 years) $500/person for state/city/public agencies Scholarships will be available for professionals from nonprofit organizations This activity has been submitted to the Western MultiState Division for approval to award contact hours.
