This week has been another jam packed week with 2
school trips taking place in KS2. Leon said “the Year
3/4 trip was interesting. I liked watching the tide and
when we saw the Roman fort and had to march like
soldiers.” It was nice to see so many parents at our
phonics workshop last night. Thank for you attending
and thank you to staff for helping.
Secondary Transfer
Moving to secondary school can be a scary process so
I asked 3 ex-Palace Wood pupils to write about their
experiences and give advice to the current Year 6.
Their writing can be found at:

?page=Advice+for+secondary+transfer&pid=198
This is under the ‘Pupils’ zone’ tab, ‘Secondary school
advice’. Thank you to Kajal, Rashmi and Victoria for
sharing their experiences.
Children in Need
Thank to everyone who donated for Children in Need
on our pyjama day last Friday. We raised £410.47.

Sport News
On Wednesday Year 6 went to Eastborough and played 2 netball and 2 football matches. Both teams
played really well and showed great team work. The boys drew both of their football matches and the
girls achieved a win and a loss. For the girls, this was their first netball match and I was really proud of
how well they did. Their picture is below left. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a
chance to also get a picture of the footballers. Thank you
to all the parents and Mrs Armstrong for their support.
In other sport news, I am delighted to say that we have
been awarded the Sainsbury’s Silver Kite Mark for sport.
This award is given to recognise commitment and develop-
