work in wavelengths from visible to SWIR (400 µm to 1.7 µm), and at
standoff distances from 300m to 1km. The 20X zoom capability, along
with non-scanning parallel processing is electronically controlled with
real-time hyperspectral data and image processing. AHZOS is
designed for man-portable, unmanned vehicles (such as UGVs/UAVs)
and fixed systems (vehicles and buildings). The hardware and
software based hypercube data reduction removes image
redundancy for excellent target detection/identification of known
objects in line of sight or cluttered environments.

GARD – GROUND ANOMALY RECOGNITION AND DETECTION SYSTEM
The GARD system will identify buried IEDs and IED-initiators such as
command wires and pressure switches that come across its path,
from a standoff distance of 50-100 m. It implements POC’s
compound eye multispectral sensor design in the shortwave
infrared (SWIR) to offer detection of disturbed ground (via spectral
discrimination of the soil’s moisture content) in day or night with
high probability of detection (Pd) and entirely passive operation (no
radiation emitted).
• Highly accurate detection, and location of emplaced IEDs using
automated threat detection algorithms.
• 50-100 m standoff detection of buried IEDs in the vehicle path
possible due to selection of optics
•Day/night operation due to use of SWIR imaging technologies
• Robust detection of IED initiators like command wires and
pressure switches via ground disturbance detection
• All weather operation – conduction cooled sealed package for all
weather operation.
• Size, weight and power design for both man-portable and vehiclemounted application:
- Compact size (16 in. × 12 in. × 8 in.)
- Lightweight (15 lb)
- Low power (28 DC, <1 A)
