CROSSCOUNTRY
Regional cross country meets will be held on
Saturday, October 28. Three separate classes will
again be included this year. The top 56 schools in
enrollment will be classified in AA, the next 64 in A'
and the remainder in B.
The State Cross Country Meet will be held at
Wamego on Saturday, November 4.
Regional sites, assignments' starting timer etc.,
will appear in the October Journal.
Schools entering will find the entry forms in the
KSHSAA Entry Form and Supply Book.

Regulations now provide that cross country practice
may not start before Monday of the week in which
September I falls and shall terminate with the state
meet. No students or team representinga memberhigh
school shall participate in more than seven cross
country meets duringa season' exclusive of the regional

Five years ago, copies ofthe Kansas Cross Country
Manual, as compiled by the Kansas Coaches Association Cross Country Committee and published by the
KSHSAA, were mailed to all schools participating in
cross country. This manual has been revised and will
again be mailed to all participatingschools in September. fther school s may receive this publication without
charge by writing to the Association office.
This manual contains details on the following: meet
mechanics, meet organization, officials and duties,
chute and positions of officials,
information
sheet
mechanics and course requirements and materials
necessary for a meet. We recommend that all schools
follow the standardized procedures for nrnning off a
cross country meet as outlined in this manual.

Derby High School has 60 complete wool band
uniforms for sale. They are clean and ingood condition.
Coats and pants are kelly green with white trim and
white braid; hats green with white visor, gold emblem
and braid. Also, one dnrm major all white uniform,
