WITNESS • On your Grace Group white board, list the names of people in your sphere of influence you’re praying will come to know Jesus. • Pray together for God to use you and your group to influence these people for Jesus. EXPLORE 1 What key idea or concept from Sunday’s sermon are you hoping to discuss? 2 Jonah received an unwelcome command from God (1,2). What command of God is the most difficult for you to understand and obey? Be specific. 3 Before someone can be reconciled to God, they have to grasp that their sin has resulted in spiritual separation from Him. Do you agree or disagree with that statement? Why or why not? 4 Deep down, Jonah knew that he could not run from God, but he tried to do so anyway (3). Why? Can you relate? Explain. What consequence(s) did you experience? 5 Unbelievers around Jonah displayed a prophetic voice to him, even if unaware, though Jonah was supposed to be the prophet (4–16). Why is that ironic? Share an example from your life in which an unbeliever taught you a spiritual lesson? 6 Who are the people that you are least interested in sharing the Gospel with? In your mind, what makes them less deserving of God’s mercy than you? What fuels your disdain for them? 7 DIG DEEPER Read Isaiah 6, Malachi 2:1–9, and John 21:15–25. Consider how others wrestled with and responded to God’s call on their lives. Confess any way you’re presently resisting God’s voice. PRAY Pray that you would have courage and conviction to daily respond to God’s call on your life.
