Free Arts Workshops January – March 2017 Rockhampton Regional Council presents weekly art workshops at the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens (meet at the Gardens Tearooms) from 1-3pm every Saturday. The workshops are FREE and no bookings are required. Recommended ages 4+. Please ensure all minors under 18 are supervised by parent or carer Date Artist Workshop 7 Jan Patty Origami Cranes – the Japanese art of paper folding 14 Jan Nora Feather Printing – monoprint feathers using ink (please wear old clothes) 21 Jan Tricia Back to Dinosaurs – clay sculptures for all ages 28 Jan Peta Cutting Edge Cards – use a variety of media to create stunning cards. AGES 13+, younger children may need adult assistance 04 Feb Ainslie At the Zoo – create a funky chimp portrait using ink, crayon and charcoal 11 Feb Michelle My Love – create valentine’s heart using watercolours, textures and gold paint 18 Feb Rockridge Clay Monsters – use clay to create a variety of monsters 25 Feb Peta Hand Map – trace your hand onto paper and create a map of important places and things. AGES 5+ 04 Mar Nora Watercolour Magic – create beautiful fish paintings using wax and wet on wet techniques 11 Mar Amber No Sew Cushion – use 2nd hand fabric to create cushions 18 Mar Kylie Woven Palm Baskets – using local palms create a basket.
