Thermal Conductors
Thermal conductors are materials that let heat pass through
them easily like metals.
Saucepans are usually made with a material that is a good
thermal conductor such as steel or aluminium to allow the heat
of the stove to pass through and heat the liquid in the saucepan.
Radiators are made with metal to allow the heated water to
warm the room .

Thermal Insulators
Thermal insulators are materials that do not let heat pass
through them easily.
Materials such as wool, plastic and wood make good insulators.
Children wear woolen mittens and woolen scarfs in the winter
to prevent their body heat escaping and keeping them warm.
Many people cover the floor space in the loft of their houses
to prevent heat escaping.
