From 22 April to 21 May : Patureau Expo at the Crypt of Sainte-Eugénie
We could speak, about the Patureau painting , " The Turner Effect ". The vaporous and powdered
light treatment erasing the outlines of the landscape sketches and floating figures, indeed evokes
the English master. Romantics, the atmospheres of Patureau entail the look well beyond the only
and grand nature where the human beings are modestly silhouetted. It is nevertheless these tiny beings which give the sulphurous light to the abysses ,filled or blazing with the warmth of orange, their
fantastic and spiritual dimension.

Sebastian, Bayonne, Bergara and private collections.
Ramiro Arrue, painter, illustrator, ceramist dedicated all his work in the Pays Basque which he
represented figuratively.
Indeed, even if he is a painter of appreciated landscape, Ramiro Arrue is nevertheless more
known to the general public for his « basques types », characters that one could consider artificial so much they symbolize the Basque imagination on the verge of the idealized image. The
grand themes of the collective life are illustrated in a timeless way because Ramiro interprets
and recreates them into images of maternity, mourning, works, parties, games and Basque
sports.
