Four Trait Cross
(Tetrahybrid Cross)
Directions: To do your cross: a) Choose anything to cross (super heroes, animals, zombies, etc...) b) The crossed "things" must be heterozygous for a minimum of three of its traits & must include more than 1 pattern of inheritance (dominance, incomplete dominance, codominance, multiple alleles, or sex‐linked traits). c) Determine the 4 traits you will cross and their alleles (Use letters that can easily be distinguished apart – ex. E/e, H/h, T/t ‐ and use proper X linked trait notation) d) Draw, color, and label the parts of the things you will cross (see the mouse example) e) Create a Punnett square to show your work when crossing all 4 traits. *You may use whichever method you prefer for finding your answers. (If you do the Punnett square for this cross you will have a 16 x 16 square.) You must show the probability of ALL possibilities. f) Box/circle/highlight your genotypes and phenotypes in your final answer g) Draw & Label the F1 generation’s most likely phenotypes. Final product must be neat, on plain white paper, organized, and in color. Incorrect, poorly organized, sloppy, rushed papers will not be considered for grading.
