Staten Island ~ By The Sea ~ The Bay & Parts In Between ~ #2921 Sunday, April 2, 2017
Staten Island offers an abundance of historical, beautiful and interesting places to explore. Today we visit a few
of the best attractions this small and diverse island offers. We begin with a tour of the palatial St. George Theatre
(1929), perhaps the most beautiful theater in America! Words cannot describe the opulence of this treasure. We
will be breathless as we gaze at the beauty this architectural area gem possesses. Lunch is included in a popular
area restaurant that is seated alongside the newly rebuilt (since Super Storm Sandy) Franklin D. Roosevelt
Boardwalk. After time to stroll this beautiful boardwalk, we depart to the nearby Conference House (1680), a true
historical treasure. It’s the site of the failed 1776 Peace Conference that was attended by John Adams, Lord Howe,
Benjamin Franklin and others. Had it been a successful meeting, The American Revolution would not have
occurred. Surrounded by forests, marshland and meadows, it overlooks the Arthur Kill River, Lower Raritan Bay
and nearby New Jersey. Our tour of this premier site provides us with fascinating stories that relate to this building
and its Colonial importance. It is among a handful of fully restored buildings in America that dates back over 330
years. $145.00
Departs South Plainfield at 8:30 AM and returns at approximately 5:00 PM.
The Museum of The American Revolution & Lunch in The City Tavern ~ #2926 Sunday, May 7, 2017
Let’s head south to Philadelphia, the city where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written
and signed. It is also the city where the newest and most extensive museum that exhibits the American Revolution
is housed. This brand-new museum (opening April 19, 2017) contains an unequaled collection of artifacts and
exhibits that immerse us in the events that encompass the time before, during and after, the American Revolution.
Following an insightful orientation film, we are free to explore, on our own, this museum boasts about 20,000
square-feet of exhibit space. Exhibits include priceless documents and artifacts, engaging films, personal stories
of those who lived at the time of revolution and more. Prior to our visit to the museum, we enjoy a brief riding
tour of the historic area of Philadelphia. This is followed by an exceptional lunch where we dine in the famous
City Tavern Restaurant, an historically reconstructed tavern that dates to the time of the American Revolution.
This is where many of the founding fathers held countless discussions about political and social unrest during the
birth of our nation. $140.00
Departs South Plainfield at 8:30 AM and returns at approximately 6:00 PM.
Special Chihuly Glass Exhibit at The New York Botanical Garden ~ Lunch & Lecture on The Chihuly
Exhibition in The Stone Mill Building ~ #2918 Sunday, May 21, 2017
For the first time in more than ten years, the artwork of world-renowned sculptor Dale Chihuly will be featured
in The New York Botanical Gardens. It’s an exceptional place to showcase this popular artist’s unique handblown glass sculptures that feature brilliant colors and organic shapes. Many of his works of art were created
specifically for the NYBG and will be exhibited within and around the gardens most frequented places, in a way
that compliments the colorful surrounding landscape. This exhibition also features a portion of Chihuly's drawings
in the Art Gallery. Our visit to the garden includes a hot buffet lunch in the magnificently restored 1840 Stone
Mill, a National Historic Landmark. It’s the oldest factory building in New York City. Following lunch, we are
treated to a lecture on the Chihuly Exhibition that will add valuable insight to our visit. Our admission allows us
unlimited access on a narrated tram ride around the garden’s 250 acres. It makes numerous stops throughout the
gardens, so we may explore the gardens with much less walking. The exceptional rose garden, that displays more
than 4,000 rose plants, should be in full bloom at around the time of our visit. In all, a great day to explore some
of the finest gardens in our area and to view an exhibit that will be talked about for years to come. $130.00
Departs South Plainfield at 8:45 AM and returns at approximately 5.30 PM.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story in The Bucks County Playhouse ~ Lunch in Lambertville Station
One Day Tour ~ Saturday, June 17, 2017 ~ #2954
This great one day getaway includes a delightful lunch in a popular area restaurant and then an enjoyable play in
an historic theater. We begin our day with a visit to the charming town of Lambertville, NJ and across the bridge
is the vibrant town of New Hope, PA. Here there are numerous unique stores, historic buildings and an opportunity
to stroll from one state to another. Our included lunch is in the historic Lambertville Station Restaurant (1867)
reflecting a unique blend of yesterday and today, portions of it were designed by the U.S. Capitol Architect,
Thomas Ustick Walter. From here we may either stroll across the bridge to New Hope or take the bus to the Bucks
County Playhouse. The playhouse opened in 1939 and quickly became “America’s Most Famous Summer

Dick Van Dyke, Robert Redford and many more have performed. From our reserved orchestra seats, we enjoy
this matinee performance that traces the career of Buddy Holly, from his meteoric rise to fame in 1957, through
his tragic death less than two years later. Buddy Holly influenced modern music like no other performer of his
generation. This toe-tapping, feel good play features more than 20 of Holly’s greatest hits, “Buddy” is a musical,
guaranteed to have you dancing in the aisles. $155.00

Coney Island & The Boardwalk ~ Roosevelt Island Tram Ride ~ Lunch in Brooklyn ~ Franklin D.
Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park ~ #2936 Sunday, June 25, 2017
We begin our day with a ride on the Roosevelt Island Tram. This unique NYC attraction transports us over a halfmile, high above Manhattan to the historic Roosevelt Island, located in the middle of the East River. Those who
do not want to take the tram may ride on the bus to the island. On Roosevelt Island, we visit the southern tip of
the island, where we stroll through the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park. This beautiful, open-air
memorial provides stunning views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. From here it’s a short drive to the heart
of Park Slope, Brooklyn where we dine in Carnem, a popular area restaurant. Next, we drive to the world-famous
boardwalk at Coney Island. Along our way we view the Russian Community of Brighton Beach. A visit will be
made at The Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance, which honors Brooklyn public service members who made the
ultimate sacrifice on September 11th, 2001. After time to stroll on the boardwalk and beach, we are treated to a

The Pacific Northwest is renowned for its unique natural beauty that features snow- capped mountains,
picturesque harbors, abundant wildlife and many charming waterfront communities. Although this tour includes
an incredible diversity of attractions, we travel no more than 120 miles from Seattle. Therefore, there is nearly
always something exciting to view with very little travel time between attractions. Our itinerary reads like a list
of top places to visit while in the Seattle area. The San Juan Islands are renowned for their beauty and charm. We
spend several days exploring them. Mount Rainer National Park is a photographer’s dream and a place that we
will want to return to again. Both our hotels are in ideal locations. In Seattle, we are near to most of all the city’s
popular attractions, and the Semiahmoo Resort is a delightful resort we will remember forever. The Boeing factory
tour is the only public tour a commercial jet assembly plant in North America.

Utah possesses one of the most diverse and stunning arrays of landscapes in the United States. In the task of
describing natural beauty, there is a point where words are inadequate. The next level is an emotional experience
that involves a rush of adrenalin and a nod of our heads that relate disbelief in how earth and sky can be so
beautiful. Welcome to the land we call Utah. The areas we travel on this tour have been featured in countless
movies and commercials. John Wayne was one of the first to exploit the natural beauty of Utah; many have
followed in his footsteps. This tour visits four national parks, three national monuments and three national forests.
