* The main focus in Class 1 for History is on developing an awareness of the past and using common words and phrases relating to the passing of
time. This is instead of looking at specific topics outlined in the new curriculum, as there needs to be an introduction to History starting with their
understanding of their own history and that of their family (parents/grandparents etc). They will begin to identify similarities and differences
between ways of life in the different periods they look at, and ask and answer questions. As a result, some of the topics listed are not specific to the
New Curriculum.
