Application
LOWINOX® 22M46-45D dispersion provides the highly efficient antioxidant LOWINOX®
22M46 stabilizer in an easy-to-handle water-based liquid form. LOWINOX® 22M46
stabilizer is one of the most widely used antioxidants for white, light colored and transparent
vulcanates that are based on natural or synthetic rubbers. In light colored vulcanates,
LOWINOX® 22M46 stabilizer retards the crazing effect caused by exposure to light.
LOWINOX® 22M46 stabilizer does not influence processing and vulcanizing properties. It
exhibits low volatility and migration which makes it suitable for use in POM and ABS. For
more detailed advice on applications please contact your local AddivantTM sales
representative.

General Instruction for Transport, Storage and Handling of Dispersions/
Emulsions
AddivantTM dispersions and emulsions represent a special physical form of AddivantTM
polymer additives tailor made for applications where a liquid water based form of polymer
stabilizers is needed. The dispersions/emulsions consist of two phases: a finely dispersed
polymer stabilizer phase and a continuous aqueous phase. These phases tend to separate
and occasionally to discolor if the dispersion/emulsion is exposed to adverse conditions, e.g.
excessive heat, frost, light and emulsion breaking or heavily oxidizing chemicals. Therefore
the constant quality of AddivantTM dispersions/emulsions can only be guaranteed if the
advice given below is thoroughly followed.
For additional handling and toxicological information consult the AddivantTM Material
Safety Data Sheet.
Transport
The containers (in general 1000L IBCs) should be placed during transportation in a place
where they are protected against:




Heat and frost:
Direct sunlight:
Evaporation:
Aggressive chemicals:
avoid temperatures below +5°C and above +35°C
long distance transport only in covered trucks
close container thoroughly
close container thoroughly (exhaust gases)
Storage
For storage the containers should be kept in a place where they are protected against:




Heat and frost:
Direct sunlight:
Evaporation:
Aggressive chemicals:
avoid temperatures below +5°C and above +35°C
long term storage only in warehouses

Handling
No phase separation or solidification should occur during the recommended shelf life of the
product (6 months) if the above storage measures are taken. Prior to use it is recommended
that the dispersion/emulsion is mixed in order to destroy inhomogeneities and to redisperse
occasionally separated water appearing at the bottom or the top of the container as a thin
layer (according to the density of the dispersed material).
If the dispersion is only partly used, the remaining quantities should be stored under the
conditions described above. If a single container of product is to be used over a long period
of time, care should be taken to avoid exposure to heat, frost and light and conditions
promoting evaporation. Repeated opening and improper closing could result in bacterial
contamination.
