When you establish a secure connection from an on-premise
private cloud to a public cloud provider, you essentially create
a Hybrid Cloud. The benefits of this connection are many:

Hybrid Cloud Made Simple –
Boomerang
Boomerang simplifies this process by creating a bridge
between VMware and Amazon Web Services. Boomerang
is a downloadable application that installs directly within
your VMware environment. Once an AWS Account has been
created, Boomerang automatically creates an AWS S3 Bucket
for storage and prepares EC2 instances for any VMs during
Migration. These EC2 instances are automatically configured
to match the settings within your VMware environment. That
means VMs are instantly deployable without any additional
configuration.
Boomerang makes it easy to schedule backups and to set
up your Disaster Recovery solution. By setting a scheduled
migration from your VMware environment to AWS, you are
essentially protecting yourself from a single point of failure:
your on-premise infrastructure. Since EC2 instances are
always ready, recovery is as quick as a click of the Deploy
button within the Boomerang Dashboard.
Challenges of a Hybrid Cloud
While the Hybrid Cloud has its benefits, it is not without
challenges. Moving virtual machines, both the application
and configuration, can be time consuming and can potentially
cause issues if not managed correctly. Storage buckets,
network settings, and run-time environments all need to be
configured manually within the public cloud environment.
