The most highly anticipated VIP party in Las Vegas is almost here! The Cosmo Casino & Resort is set to host
a world class soiree for celebrities, news media, and a few Vegas locals that were lucky enough to score
tickets. Some of the most prominent figures of our time will be in attendance and this will certainly be a night
to remember.
However, there is a situation. The city of Las Vegas has been terrorized by a serial killer with an MO of
attending VIP events held on the strip. The killer, known as the Sin City Slayer, chooses victims from
unsuspecting party guests. The Las Vegas police are currently working with federal agencies to catch this
deranged predator.
Hopefully, the killer doesn’t have a ticket to this event. This is where your story begins.

Optional to have a toy
microphone as a prop.
Optional accessories are a
pen and notepad.
A somewhat late bloomer as compared to other
big screen icons, Alex Jade became an
overnight sensation with the release of the
movie Ice Cold Fangs. Alex is a quirky
trendsetter that can do no wrong in the eyes of
fans, but has declared war with members of the
media.
Glamorous evening attire.
Cricket Pewter is the talented gossip columnist
for the Las Vegas Daily. Cricket knows the
who’s who of Las Vegas, and is quick to shadow
unsuspecting Hollywood celebrities as soon as
their feet hit the strip. It is definitely not a good
thing to be mentioned in the gossip column of
the Las Vegas Daily, and the locals know to
avoid Cricket at all costs.
Casual yet trendy business
attire. Pen and paper as
optional props.
Darby Cerulean is the Emmy-award winning
illusionist. Darby is the world’s preeminent
magician with global sold-out shows of aweinspiring illusions with intriguing storytelling.

called the Cerulean Mountains of Mystery.
Jude Plum is the Hollywood socialite that cannot
seem to stay out of the trash tabloids. Jude’s
parents own the successful chain of Orbit Hotels
around the world and supply Jude with a neverending cash flow and connections to do
whatever Jude wants. Jude is uber-famous, but
for no reasons other than being a very wealthy
troublemaker.
From a poor orphan learning to sew by hand to
the bright lights of the Paris runways, Parson
Golden has definitely made a mark in fashion
history. This ultra-reserved icon of style has
one of the most remarkable rags to riches
success stories ever known!
Hailing from the UK, Piper White is the
hardnosed concierge at Cosmo Resort & Casino
in the heart of the Las Vegas strip. Piper is a
hard working employee, but won’t be kind if
asked to do anything that s/he believes is trivial.
Piper has a bad attitude and doesn’t care about
anybody besides Piper.

optional top hat and a stuffed
bunny. Another optional prop
is a magic trick set.

Greenlee Black is one of the most hilarious
people you will ever have the pleasure of
meeting. Greenlee’s a knee-slapping amateur
comedian at night and a highly-skilled poker
player by day. Greenlee has recently been
pursuing a career as a professional comic.
A former reality star, Ren Peach recently landed
a starring role on a hit soap opera called
Gorgeous Thieves. Ren’s attractive mug can be
seen in most grocery checkout lines, as s/he is a
popular choice for the cover of teen mags.
Unfortunately, Ren’s inner circle reports that
Ren has allowed the fame to go straight to
his/her head.
Rigny Cyan is the ultra-eccentric pop icon from
Mississippi. Now a Hollywood resident, Rigny
still speaks with a southern accent and follows
the rules of southern hospitality. However, the
claws will come out if you make Rigny angry.
Story Indigo is the insufferable tennis instructor
at the Cosmo Resort & Casino. Lacking control

without a care in the world. A long-time tennis
pro, Story is anything but tolerant of beginning
tennis players and isn’t ashamed to let them
know how s/he feels.

If you looked up narcissism in the dictionary,
Winter Olive’s picture would be plastered by the
description. Winter is the friendly, yet self-loving
neighborhood butcher with a dreadful overexaggeration problem.
Dracen Gray recently gave up the struggle to
become a Hollywood star and took a job as a
housekeeper at the Cosmo Resort & Casino in
Vegas. Dracen isn’t the best at social
gatherings, as s/he can be somewhat hostile
and doesn’t get along with others. This illmannered behavior might be because s/he is
angry to have given up the dream.
Whitney Whatley is the brazen and beautiful
reality television star on the hit television show
Whitney’s World. She loves to flaunt her ink and
is uber-intolerant of moronic behavior. Don’t
make this tiny star angry unless you want to
bathe in your beverage.
Apron and butcher’s hat.
Plastic butcher knife as an
optional prop.
Housekeeping uniform and /
or any clothing under an
apron with rubber gloves.
Hair covered with a bandana.
Trendy, alternative attire.
Long blonde wig and tattoos
(temporary ones will do).
SHAN
LEMON
Window Washer, Cosmo

Optional character
Shan Lemon is the outgoing window washer at
the Cosmo Resort & Casino. Shan is silly,
young, and broke with an aura of mischief at all
times. Shan is rather unpredictable, but is
known to be quite the humanitarian.
Casual attire – a towel/shirt
around your head for sun
protection as an optional
prop. Squeegee as an
optional prop.
Blue Coral is the ill-mannered cosmetologist at
the Glitz & Glamour Hair Bar in the Cosmo
Resort & Casino. Blue Coral is the rudest soul
around and is a notorious party crasher. Blue
acquired a ticket to the VIP party and the other
employees of the hotel are less than thrilled to
hear the news.
Casual clothing with a smock
/ apron. Outrageous hair and
makeup (for a female
character). Optional to have
a makeup kit, brushes and
combs as optional props.

Lee Mint is the accident-prone waiter at the
BeBe Steakhouse in the Cosmo Resort &
Casino. Known to have a constant stream of
bad luck, you should watch out while standing
next to Lee. Void of good manners, Lee’s
definitely not one to bring home to meet the
parents - unless they own a charm school.
White shirt, black pants.
Optional to have a waist
apron.
*IMPORANT INFORMATION REGARDING CHARACTER ASSIGNMENTS:
Assign your most definite RSVPs and outgoing guests to the required characters and the more tentative,
shy/reserved guests for the optional characters. To figure out who will be a ‘definite RSVP’, it is highly
suggested to send a ‘save the date’ email out to your prospective guests way in advance of the party date so
you can either eliminate those guests from your list who can’t make it (and therefore you will not assign them to
a character) or you can change your party date if enough required-character guests simply cannot make it. It’s
suggested to invite more than the required number of players as any of the ‘required’ guests could cancel at
the last minute and leave you high & dry. You can play as many optional players as you wish and in any
combination that you choose. The optional players have the same materials and same participation level, but
these optional characters are not ‘mandatory’ for the storyline to play out and therefore for the mystery to be
sleuthed appropriately.
What happens if one of your required characters cancels on you at the last minute? First, take a deep breath…it’s
not the end of the world.

HOST DIRECTIVES
Get ready for a fun time at the Cosmo Casino with your purchase of the Sin City Slayer: Vegas
Murder Mystery game from mymysteryparty.com! This party is an exciting murder mystery where the players
act the roles of intriguing personalities while sleuthing the captivating story line. You can never go wrong with
a My Mystery Party game for any occasion!
The party pack (this document) needs to be printed in advance of the party. Cut out the clues, slip
them into envelopes labeled with the appropriate round and character for each round of the party. It is optimal
to choose different colored envelopes for each round and you can purchase the exact amount needed for your
game on the www.MyMysteryparty.com site in the Mystery Prop Emporium section. For economy’s sake, an
alternative is to scroll the clues and fasten with a ribbon. Be sure to label the outside of each scroll with the
character/round. In these instructions, however, we will assume you are using the envelope method for each
character, each round.

PROVIDED IN THE
PURCHASED GAME.
For an optimal experience, try to cast the characters Alex Jade and Ren Peach as the same gender.
This is not mandatory, but since they are two players that in the story are up for the same movie roles, it will
work best if they are the same gender. Again, it’s only to be optimal, you can simply state that their movie
roles that they were both up for were androgynous roles. For example, the vampire role in the movie Ice Cold
Fangs that Alex starred in – during casting, the producer was up for altering the script for a male or female –
depending up on who was cast in the role. It’s easily explained, but optimal and easier to improvise during
game play if they’re the same gender.
The game is organized into four rounds and is structured as follows:
OPTIONAL PRE-GAME TASKS & STARTERS: these optional pre-game starter task sheets are to be delivered to
each guest before the party or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game materials are optional and
do not alter the mystery and are intended to enhance the pre-game build up for the event. These starter tasks
are not vital to solving the mystery and omission of them does not alter the mystery in any way.
APPETIZER (COCKTAILS 4 ADULTS) HOUR / ROUND ONE: Deliver these clues as your guests arrive.
DINNER HOUR / ROUND TWO: Deliver these clues while you serve dinner (optional) to your guests.
DESSERT, AND THE BIG REVEAL/ SOLUTION ROUND THREE: Deliver these clues with coffee/hot cocoa and
dessert.
Note: you do NOT have to serve dinner, this is only suggested and the instructions tell you ‘when’ to serve it
and what to do around the time you serve it. You also do not have to serve dessert – again, it is only a
suggestion. You can simply skip both without a problem and just serve snacks/appetizers the entire time.

OPTIONAL PRE-GAME STARTER
Before the party, encourage your guests to view the Your Mystery Party YourMysteryParty.com/sincity website or use the free printable My Mystery Party invitations as they have the
character descriptions included. This way, before the party, they can get familiar with the other characters that
will be at the party as well as the history of Las Vegas, watch the game trailer, and more! There are also
hidden/subtle hints about characters throughout the page so those guests who choose to be ‘super sleuths’
can spend some time studying the Your Mystery Party site prior to the party.

ROUND ONE - MEET & MINGLE APPETIZER HOUR
Round one – appetizer / cocktail (for adults) hour begins as the guests arrive.
DÉCOR: The party area is supposed to be the main casino floor of the Cosmo Casino of Las Vegas. This
means, any generic party area can be used. In no way are you to duplicate the map on the murder mystery
investigation sheets – this is only used for the story. All you need is a general party area and access to a
restroom for your guests. Since this is a casino themed party, you can go to a local party store and view the
selection of casino / Las Vegas décor – the sky is the limit, but your budget for décor is really the limit. Red,
green and gold would be a great color scheme for a casino party – but feel free to be creative and choose
anything you prefer. There are large prop casino cut outs that you can stage around the party room for a ‘wow
factor’ such as from stores like stumpsparty.com. If you have time, it may be worth it to do an internet search
for ‘casino décor’ and find some items online. Last, if you have the budget, by all means hire a company that
provides you with tables and dealers for the night to increase the authenticity of a Vegas casino. Also, take a
look at our Pinterest Page (MyMysteryParty) for some DIY options. Optional: make a DVD of pictures of your
guests to play like a slideshow during your party on the television / projector screen (if there is one in the
room).

ROUND TWO – DINNER HOUR
PRE-GAME SET UP: In the nearest bathroom, place the following items under the sink - the victim sign,
scotch tape, host supplied white non-toxic face makeup (optional but funny and suggested), and also include
the victim t-shirt and / or crime scene tape if you have purchased these items (again, optional but funny and
suggested). If there is not a cabinet under the sink, place these items in any location that can be concealed
within that bathroom. The victim will be instructed in their clue card for round two to look for it if there is not a
cabinet under the sink. The victim will be instructed in their round two clue card – to become the victim after
the pre-murder clues have been implemented (after ~ 15 minutes) to go to the nearest restroom to
become the victim by applying the white face makeup on their face (optional), using Scotch tape to adhere the
victim sign to their chest and if the optional victim t-shirt is available - to put that on (with the victim sign on top)
and if the optional authentic crime scene barrier tape is there - to decorate themselves with it. It is hilarious
when the guests see the fully decorated victim!
PRE-ROUND TWO: You can serve dinner (dinner is optional). You can simply take a break and eat dinner but
tell your guests to remain in character! They are allowed to mingle / talk about things during this time, but
since they will likely be only sitting with a subsection of the group, it will be limiting – and that is all right – you’ll
give time for everybody to mingle once the official round begins. You can pass out their clue cards before/after
dinner – it won’t make a difference.
PRE-MURDER ROUND TWO: PASS OUT THE ROUND TWO CLUE CARDS: Pass out the envelopes for
round two to the guests and encourage them over the next 15 or so minutes to mingle while implementing their
'pre-murder' reveal clues for round two. Since you are likely to be playing a character role, do not forget to
implement your own 'pre-murder' clues and mingle with your guests before you allow the round to advance.
The victim’s clue card instructs them to become the victim after about 15 minutes or once they have spoken to
everybody in the room using the pre-murder clues – whichever comes last. You may see the victim exit the
room and then another player should follow about 3 minutes per the instructions on their clue card. You’ll need
Copyright © Dr. Bon Blossman of MyMysteryParty.com 2014
to be creative and stall to divert the guests’ attention until the victim and second player re-enter the room. The
point here is to distract the guests so the victim can become the victim (see above and below). If you want to
know who the victim and second player that discovers the victim is – simply view their round two clue cards. If
not, just know they are in the required 8 players on the character list. Be on the lookout for these two to exit
the room.
FULL
INSTRUCTIONS
PROVIDED IN THE
PURCHASED GAME.
CONCLUSION OF THE ROUND: At the conclusion of this round, give the guests a time period (i.e. 5-10
minutes) in which to fill in their final guesses as to whodunit on the 'Murder Mystery Investigation Sheet'.
Collect the guess sheets from your guests at the conclusion of this round.
You collect the investigation sheets so the guests are not tempted to change their original guesses of whodunit
once they hear what others have to say during the accusation round. If you trust your guests won’t change their answers
&/or there is no pride or end of the game prizes on the line – there’s no need to collect the murder mystery investigation
sheets from your guests.
PROP LIST: These are props needed for this round. Collect these items in advance and have them ready!
Clue cards for Round Two in sealed and labeled envelopes.

Scotch Tape (host supplied, to adhere the victim sign and the murder weapon to the victim).

host supplied and available at the My Mystery Party Prop Emporium).
Victim t-shirt (optional, host supplied and available at the My Mystery Party Prop Emporium) and crime
scene tape to decorate the victim (optional, host supplied and available at the My Mystery Party Prop
Emporium)

ROUND THREE – SOLUTION ROUND
ACCUSATIONS: After you collect the mystery investigation sheets, allow the guests to one-by-one accuse
who they believe the MURDERER is and how they did it. Instruct them to also tell the group their guess of the
MURDERER‘S motive. If you are having an awards ceremony using the awards certificates available on the My
Mystery Party site in the mystery props section, you can use this round as the final decision maker on the Best
Actor/Actress award.

HELPFUL HINTS ON HOW TO PLAY A MYSTERY PARTY
GUEST INSTRUCTIONS
You’ve been assigned a character and you’ve come to the party dressed in the most awesome
costume and have been told to play your role. Now what?
The mystery is separated into three main rounds of party play. During the party, you will
receive an envelope that contains the clues necessary for your character for the round. The
clues for the characters at the party provide everything that you need to solve the mystery.
However, during the investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right
questions and pay close attention to everyone’s clues to get the whole picture of what has
happened.
FULL
INSTRUCTIONS
PROVIDED IN THE
PURCHASED GAME.
From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are
playing a ‘hypocritical police officer,’ then that is who you are until the end! Undoubtedly,
your host cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. Some characters are
designed to be played more reserved than other characters. Feel free to play your role in any
manner that you feel comfortable. Embellish your character’s personality if you would like.
However, if you are feeling more reserved tonight, you can opt to allow the other guests to
approach you or you can simply listen in on others’ conversations to get your information.

OPTIONAL PRE-GAME TASKS:
Cut the task strips out below and slip them into envelopes. Below on the pregame task sheets, fill in your guests’ preferred contact information (i.e. email, phone) so they will be able to contact each other.
IMPORTANT: If any of the optional players are not being played in your game, write ‘DISREGARD THIS TASK’ in the contact
information space. 
Character R
OPTIONAL - for some pre-party fun, contact (email, phone, etc.) the following guests in the week leading up to the party:
Contact the guest playing Character C and say that you heard that s/he is the Sin City Slayer because s/he has attended
every event that the slayer has murdered someone.
(Contact info :___________________________________________________________________________________)
Contact the guest playing Character L and say that you are a big fan of his/her music. You can’t wait until s/he plays
another local concert, as you’ll have front row tickets for sure.

Each player will

Please note: either contacting the guests above or deciding to skip these tasks will not alter the mystery or
anyone's ability to solve the mystery in anyway.
However, contacting
other guests will lead to excitement about

the party and will encourage other guests to read about the other characters and be prepared for serious fun!

ROUND ONE CLUES – CUT OUT, SLIP INTO ENVELOPES AND LABEL WITH THE CHARACTER AND ROUND.

During the mystery, your character must be honest and not make up any potentially mystery-altering clues in addition to
those provided to you. You do not, however, have to share the clues that you collect with other guests.
CHARACTER l – ROUND ONE
CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND
During this round, mingle with other guests to discuss the following information with whomever you choose:
Character P did a story on Character Q’s wild night on the Vegas strip. The following day, there was a retraction and
apology to her. You are pretty sure that Character Q’s powerful family threatened the newspaper.
Ask around to see what others think about the Sin City Slayer. Do other guests believe the slayer will strike tonight?
You know your last concert in Hollywood was a mess. A heckler and his/her friends sat in the front row where the VIP
guests were seated. The heckler had his/her friend throw a soda on your legs and you were so angry, you refused to
come back out to finish the concert. You had to give everybody’s money back and your promoter and agent were
furious with you.
Ask Character P why s/he is always in the trash tabloids. You would think that somebody with that much money
would stay out of trouble. You read the most recent article in People’s Magazine about how she wrecked her Porsche
into a convenience store. You’d think that with that much money, Jude would just take a limo everywhere – you know
that you do and you only have a small portion of the money that the Plum family has.
Each player will have one in the
purchased game
PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL
You definitely think that you are the biggest celebrity here tonight. You are not used to going to parties where they
allow the ‘help’ to attend (i.e. the concierge of the hotel is a guest).
Character B was the one who sat in the front row during your Hollywood show and heckled you. You saw Character
B hand a member of his/her entourage a very large fountain drink and then the guy threw it on stage and soaked your
pants full of soda. You desperately want to get back at Character B.
During the mystery, your character must be honest and not make up any potentially mystery-altering clues in addition to
those provided to you. You do not, however, have to share the clues that you collect with other guests.
*All character names have been changed to Character “A”, “B”, etc. on the sample
game.
Copyright © Dr. Bon Blossman of MyMysteryParty.com 2014
ROUND TWO CLUES – cut out, slip into envelopes and label with the character and round.
CHARACTER d - ROUND TWO
Pre-Murder Clues
You heard a rumor that Character X murdered his/her grandfather. Ask around to see if this is true and why she
would have done such an awful thing.
Tell Character O that s/he doesn’t look very good. It appears as though she is coming down with something and you
would bet that she is catching the flu from Character I, who has been sick for weeks.
You heard people talking about Character M and how her job is in danger. You had previously heard that she was
up for a big promotion at the newspaper, so you cannot believe that this is true.
Admit to 1-2 people that you trust (you decide who) that you are a celebrity stalker. You are stalking a few of the
celebs here tonight, but they haven’t caught on to you yet. A bunch of celebrities have restraining orders against
you.
Each player will have one in
the purchased game
Post-Murder Evidence & Alibi (Blood Type O+)
If there is more than one blood type found at the crime scene, the second blood type that doesn’t match the victim
may be from the murderer.
You remember seeing the murder weapon at the buffet table, but you don’t think you touched it.
You should arrange a chronological time line to see where everybody was during the time of the murder.
You never left the main casino once the party started.
Unfortunately, with thousands of cameras at this hotel, there is a blank spot in the hallway next to the restrooms, as
well as by the guest elevators. The security team has known about this and has never fixed the problem.
*All character names have been changed to Character “A”, “B”, etc. on the sample
game.
