KMT #10 Pi Day! - Kapalama Campus

KMT #10 Pi Day! Kassidee Toguchi Lama 95 Makani Background This year on March 14, 2013, the Lama Team had a celebration of pi. But not the kind of pie that you can eat, the mathematical pi. Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, which most people know as 3.1415926 and more. For pi day, the teachers had planned a lot of different pi related activities. We did an egg worksheet for math, crossword puzzles and Sudoku in English, and found pi around the campus in Science. We also had to memorize as much as we could of pi. I was able to recite 30 numbers of pi, which compared to other people wasn’t very much, but at least I tried my best. But my favorite part of this day was when we were able to eat actual pie. I had brought an apple pie, because it is one of my favorites. This day was really fun, and next year I will celebrate this event again. Problem For pi day, 36 people out of 106 of the Lama team brought a pi for pi day. They had brought several different flavors, like apple, cherry, and pumpkin. Find the percentage, fraction, and ratio of the amount of people who brought pi. Kassidee Toguchi
