Master Gardener Membership Recognition Program
UCCE Master Gardener Program of Santa Clara County
In 2014 a new MG Membership Recognition Program was established to
present more frequent awards to acknowledge the work of the many dedicated
volunteers on behalf of our wonderful Santa Clara County MG program. The
award pins are presented monthly, publically, at a training, CE (AT or IT). Each
project, garden, team and committee will be recognized for their contribution
throughout the year.

MASTER GARDENERS OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY AWARDS
The Volunteer of the Year awards were established in 1999 in recognition of two outstanding
Master Gardeners. The Dot Maley Volunteer of the Year is awarded at the Holiday Party and
the Sharon McCray Volunteer of the Year is awarded at the Annual Meeting in May. They

This award is in honor of the first and long-time program coordinator Nancy Garrison. It is
given in recognition of continuous service and outstanding commitment to the organization for
a minimum of ten years. They are awarded once a year at the annual meeting or celebratory
gathering. Ten years continuous service and 650 hours effective 2010 – amended to be
effective for year commencing July 1, 2012, ten years continuous service and 1,000 hours.
