1.
Woven cotton or linen for 6 stitchouts in your 5x7 inch hoop:
Batting – 60 x 140 cm
Plain white cotton or polyester fabric for backing – 60 x 140 cm
Quilt Block Fabric 1 – 20 cm
Quilt Block Fabric 2 – 20 cm
Quilt Block Fabric 3 – 20 cm
Outside triangles, border and edging fabric - 90 cm
Rayon or polyester embroidery thread
pre wound bobbins or bobbin thread to wound your own bobbins
Stabilizer for backing while embroidering designs.
Stitch Designs
Stitch 5 of the fuchsia wreath designs.

Trim designs to correct size
Trim your designs to a block sized 19 x 19 cms.
3.
Prepare quilt block fabric blocks
Your quilt block fabric is made up of 3 colors:
Color 1
Color 2
Color 3
Cut strips as follows:
• Color 1
o 8 x 7.33 x 19 cms
• Color 2
o 8 x 8.33 x 19 cms
• Color 3
o 8 x 7.33 x 19 cms

4.
Prepare outer triangles
Using fabric color 4, cut 3 blocks, 19 x 19 cms and slice in half diagonally.
5.
Join the blocks
All your pieces for the main part of the project are now ready and you can pack them out as they should
fit together.

Now you must split the pieces into diagonal strips, and sew these strips together one by one.

Attach border
Cut two strips 25 x 6 cm and join to opposing slanted ends.
Cut two strips 39 x 6 cms and join to the remaining slanted ends.
Straighten the edges and cut off the little tails along the long edges.

Cut two strips 90 x 6 cms and attach to the long sides. Extend the strip 1 cm past the end of the project
on each side.
Straighten off the end where it joins the slanted part of the project.

8.
Batting and quilting
Layer your project from bottom to top with backing fabric, batting and embroidered top. Pin securely.
Stitch in the ditch between along the inner blocks and project and border. The picture below shows the
back of the project so you can see the quilting lines more clearly.
9.
Finishing off
Trim the excess batting and backing off .

Pin bias binding strip to project, right sides facing. In fact, I don’t even bother to cut diagonally, as this
uses so much fabric – I simply cut and join 5 cm wide strips of fabric. Stitch, turn to back and hand
stitch.
