Class names
This year at Fred Nicholson School, we
have decided to rename our tutor groups.
Instead of being LS1, 2, 3 etc, the tutor
groups are now named after some of the
different trees around the school site. Here
is a list of the new tutor group names and
teachers;

Head Teacher
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to a new year at Fred Nicholson
School. I hope that you and your families
are ready for another busy and fun packed
year. The sunny weather we have had
lately has certainly put a spring in
everyone’s step around school and it is
great to see how well both old and new
pupils are settling in.
As well as our fantastic new pupils we are
also lucky enough to be joined by some
new members of staff, which you can read
more about in this newsletter. I think you
will see what a wealth of talent and
enthusiasm they bring with them and I am
sure you will meet them over the course of
this term.
Please have a look at the diary dates we
have included, we have tried to provide as
many key dates as possible. I know very
many of you make special arrangements
so you can attend Access Days as well as
other events and celebrations over the
course of the year.
At Fred Nicholson we value working in
partnership with all our families so please
contact us through home/school books or
by phone or email with any questions or
issues you may need support with however
small. We are always here to help.

Hello, my name is Mr Cunningham. I live in Dereham and have been a teacher for 11 years.. I
have started working at Fred Nicholson School
after working as a teacher at Fakenham Junior
School. I am the class tutor of Oak class and will
be working with several other classes for Literacy,
History and PHSCE.
Hello, my name is Mr Roach. I have worked
in Special Needs Education for the last 11
years, working as a Teaching Assistant
before qualifying as a Teacher. For the last
two years I was Assistant Headteacher
before becoming Head of Education
(Acting) at a Special Needs School for
children with complex speech, Language &
communication needs in Nottinghamshire.
Hi, my name is Miss Baldwin and I am the class
tutor of Maple Class. I am an NQT (Newly
Qualified Teacher) having completed my PGCE
in July. I am very excited to be starting my
teaching career here at Fred Nicholson School.
Hello my name is Karen Millen, I am the new Head
of Care. I have worked within Specialist Education
for the past 24 years, my most recent position was a
Ofsted Registered Manager, working for a private
provision, specialising in education and therapy for
young people. I look forward to meeting you all in
the near future.
