stories fit into the category “funny and terrifying”. This clip sees the characters
take part in a game of 'sardines', a derivative of children's game hide-and-seek.
In the game, one person hides whilst a group of participants try to locate them.
Once a participant finds the hiding person they must also hide in the same spot.

features a soundtrack specially recorded by Italian pop singer Niccolò Agliardi.

Salamander – Eén (Belgium) 12 x 60’
Police officer Paul Gerardi is plunged into a deadly conspiracy following a bank
robbery, in which 66 vaults belonging to various political leaders are stolen.
The politicians are all very quick to express that they want the robbery kept out
of the press, and Gerardi learns that they belong to a secret society named
Salamander. The stolen safety deposit boxes, of course, contain dangerous
secrets that shadowy forces will kill to protect.

This one-off crime thriller is based on the novel by Peter Temple. Following a
botched police mission, detective Joe Cashin (Don Hany) returns to his home
town of Port Monro, a coastal village. Once there, he is tasked with running
the local police station whilst dealing with the memories of his father’s death
and the remnants of an old romance. When a wealthy member of the village is

The two-part miniseries tells the story of INXS, a six-piece Australian rock band
who gained notoriety in the 1980s and 1990s. The drama covers the band’s

Hutchence (played by Luke Arnold), who died in 1997.
The first episode rated extremely well for Seven with 1.97m viewers, placing it

Medical drama about women dealing with the social and cultural changes that
occurred in the late 1960s. Two locations form the basis of the series; Haven,
a maternity hospital and Darlinghurst, the liberal street located outside the
hospital. The paradox between the taboo of teenage pregnancy and the overall
acceptance of rock music and sexual freedom is explored.
Episode one rated well with 1.35m viewers placing it second of the night overall
behind unscripted food series My Kitchen Rules. The episode competed against
US series Revenge which gained 862,000 viewers.

The crime drama focuses on the collapse of a drug empire which lasted 18
months. The series is a prequel to successful drama Underbelly however, due
to some funding changes, the series is not branded as part of the franchise.
Critics have been positive about the series with the Sydney Morning Herald
naming it their ‘Show of the Week.’ A clip can be found here.
The first two episodes of the drama aired back to back and gained 1.38m
and 1.24m viewers respectively. Episode one placed third of the night and top
scripted show. Both episodes beat UK drama series Downton Abbey which
gained 1.13m viewers.

The six-part drama series was revealed as part of the 2014 schedule at Network
Ten’s Upfronts. Martin Henderson portrays Ben Gundelach, a married father
who discovers the dead body of a young boy. After becoming a suspect in the
murder investigation, he attempts to find the real killer himself.
As well as the TV series, an online counterpart http://secretsandlies.tv/
provides viewers with extra case details to allow them to try and solve the case
themselves. Currently available is a prequel episode along with profiles of the
suspects and clues including lie detector results.
A US adaptation of the drama has already been ordered by ABC. The ten-part

Australian and Canadian broadcasters have partnered with producer/distributor
Entertainment One and Sydney-based Sticky Pictures on a new scripted
animated children series (52 x11’). ABC Australia and Teletoon Canada will air
the series aimed at 6-12 year olds which follows three unlikely friends who end
up travelling into space, set to air in 2016.

Network Ten has ordered a second season of Wonderland. Set in a beachside
apartment block, the comedy drama centres round four couples who are all at

The drama currently has a script commitment from the network and, should

Gen Mishima first aired on TVN in 2008 and follows Ignacio Maiakovsky, a
journalist investigating a Japanese school for gifted children. In the process
of researching the school for his article, Ignacio unveils a government plan
involving genetic mutation and religion.

Based on the novel “El Cartel de los Sapos” by ex-drug cartel Andrés López
López, the drama centres on a drug lord Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán and his
multi-million pound drug empire. Joaquín’s cartel would ship extremely large
amounts of cocaine from Colombia, through Mexico and into the United States.
Other drugs he was responsible for include methamphetamine, marijuana, and
heroin.
After being arrested and given a 20 year sentence, the “10th richest man in
Mexico” easily bribed guards, seamlessly escaped from prison and evaded the
authorities. The drama will air later this year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter ‘Univision declined to reveal the name of
the production company, the owner of global rights or what they paid.’

RCN, Fox International Channels and TC have commissioned a sixty-episode
adaptation of US medical series ER. The original series launched on NBC in
1994 and ran for 15 seasons.
“Even though ER is a fundamental American series, its characters and
situations are so strong, moving and universal that will surely find a place in the
hearts of Latin American audiences,” explained Fernando Gaitan, RCN’s VP
Content and Production.
The Colombian series is due to launch spring 2014.

To air on DR, 8 x 60’ historical drama 1864 depicts the 1864 war between
Denmark and Prussia. The series is the most expensive TV production to
date in Denmark and is set to air on 27 September 2014, marking the 150th
anniversary of the end of the second Schleswig war.
The drama follows Peter and Laust, two brothers from a rural village who
volunteer to serve in the war. Other historical figures, including the former
Danish Prime Minister DG Monrad and army colonels will also feature, with the
contrast between the life of soldiers and political intrigue shown.
A feature film version of 1864 is also being made, to be released in 2015.

Hatufim, the original version of Homeland, is to have a Korean adaptation. The
spy thriller is to focus on the stress and tension between Seoul (South Korea)
and Pyongyang (North Korea).
Teddy Zee, producer, told the Hollywood Reporter “We believe that the ongoing
conflict between South Korea and North Korea makes the adaptation of
‘Prisoners of War’ especially compelling and timely.”

Eccho Rights has announced that Korean drama Ice Adonis is to receive a local
version in the Ukraine and has been optioned in Italy.
“Ice Adonis is drama at its best. The captivating storyline and strong characters
have made the show a success in many territories. And the figures are
sensational - over the course of transmission in Korea the audience share
grew from just 1% for the first episode to over 36% for the finale. Never in
my professional experience I’ve seen something similar.” Nicola Söderlund,
Managing Partner at Eccho Rights.
The drama, from CJ E&M, has been sold to 26 countries, as well as rating as
the number one show in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Mongolia. Mexico also
has a local adaptation in development.
Ice Adonis focuses on two stepsisters who work for a major cosmetic surgery.
The stepsisters see their relationship turn sour when Yu-Ra frames Yun-Hwa for
murder and steals her boyfriend.

Red Band Society.
Based on the Catalonian scripted format Polseras Vermelles, which first aired
24 January 2011 on TV3, the drama follows a group of young patients in

illnesses, the friends create a ‘red bracelet club’ so they feel less alone.
The drama is has a “series prototype” order after Fox announced they are
bypassing pilot season.

4 thriller Utopia. The project will be executive produced and directed by David
Fincher (House of Cards) and penned by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn.
A group of people are forced on the run after discovering a cult graphic novel’s
manuscript called ‘Utopia’. The novel is more important than they first believe as
it has predicted all the disasters that have happened during the last one hundred
years. Finding this manuscript forces the group to run from an organisation
called ‘The Network’.
