Level 1 Bulletin: Thursday, 14 March
Dear Parents
Thank you to all the parents who have returned the “Acceptable Use Agreement” to their
child’s classroom teacher. We do require these back as soon as possible.
There are quite a few exciting special days coming up so please make sure your diary is up to date
for:
Friday 15th March: Crazy Hair Day (gold coin donation) and Icy Pole Day ($1)
Monday 18th March: Parent Helpers session 2.15 -3.15 in the Performing Arts Room
Tuesday: 19th March: Assembly and Footy Day (Dress up in Team colours)
Wednesday 20th March: School Photos/No assembly
Thursday 21st March: Buddy Picnic
Buddy Picnic: The children will depart school at 11.30am and walk with their Buddies to Union Street
Park. All children must bring their lunch, drink bottle and hat. Please ensure your child
wears suitable footwear. If it rains, we will have our Buddy Picnic at school. Please
remind your child that we do not share food at school – even with our Buddies!
Literacy:
Tongue Twisters and rhymes are fun to say and provide fabulous opportunities to develop literacy
skills in phonemic awareness, appreciation of alliteration, rhyming words and improve
pronunciation.
Have a go at reciting:
Red lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry, yellow lorry…..repeat the words as many times as you can!
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers
Where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
The following link http://www.englisch-hilfen.de/en/words/nursery_rhymes.htm has some great
rhymes and tongue twisters you can try together.
Thank you to Poppy Morrison’s mum, Emma, for the generous donation of items we need for
construction and to Chantelle –Archer’s nanny -for collating our Literacy Books. As they say….many
hands make light work!
