Conflict Resolution: A Work Out for the Worn Out Sunday, January 13 All groups experience conflict – including churches! People have different ways of dealing with conflict. Some avoid conflict and navigate the tension. Some dive right in and fight it out. Some manipulate, argue, or persuade. Regardless of how we handle conflict, conflict can consume our time, energy, and passion. But conflict can also fuel our passion and increase our energy by introducing new possibilities, shedding light on new perspectives, and bringing about new opportunities. This January, our church is going to take a Sunday afternoon to Work It Out! No, you don’t need your exercise shoes! No, we aren’t going to tackle all of the hot button issues and controversial topics! No, we aren’t going to attack one another! Instead, we are going to work together to understand different ways of handling conflict. Being part of community takes work. Understanding different perspectives takes patience. Listening to one another takes time. This is part of our call as disciples of Christ – to take the time, the energy, and the love to Work It Out! together. Save the date, Sunday, January 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., for Work It Out! Dinner, a workbook, childcare and lots of new insights will be provided. Registration will begin Wednesday, December 12. “…Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling…” Philippians 2:12 New School Year Wednesday Schedule begins January 9 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. 6:25 – 6:30 p.m. 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. Youth Ensemble (choir room) Prayer Service (sanctuary), Youth Praise Team (youth room) Children’s Music Programs: Sing & Play (Ages 1 & 2), Preschool Music (Ages 3-5), Music Makers (Grades 1-3), Young Musicians (Grades 4-6) Dinner served Birthdays & Blessings, Announcements (fellowship hall) NEXT (Youth), Nursery (2 and under) Adult Bible Study in Co-Ed D Classroom (Room 306) Children’s Mission & Bible Study Programs: Missions Explorers (Age 3), Mission Friends (Ages 4 & 5), Planet 56 (Grades 5 & 6) Grades 1-4: RAs & GAs first Wednesday/Bible Thrills meets following Wednesdays Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal (choir room)
