Reflections—Middle School– Grade 9
Inter House Swimming Championship
On October 5, 2015, the Middle School Students gathered in the swimming pool area to witness the Inter-House Swimming Gala. It was the
first paperless sporting meet in the entire NCR region amidst schools,
where the results were collated and presented online! An event to be
truly proud of!
On the arrival of the School Director, Captain Rohit Sen Bajaj, a short
video was shown on the achievements of Pathways’ swimmers. This
was followed by synchronised swimming by the school’s ace swimmers,
where Jayati Gogia of Grade 9 and Avi Khanduja of Grade 8, swam
across the pool with a bouquet held aloft and thereafter presented to
the Director!
The Middle School students of Grades 6, 7 and 8 danced to the song
“It’s time to cheer” followed by the administering of the oath by the
Sports Captain, Preksha Jain. The Director, Capt. Bajaj, declared the
meet open.
The events that took place were freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, butterfly, and relay, in that order. The students watched, enthralled, as
the participants, dived into the pool, and forked through the water. At
the end of every race, the results were displayed on a large screen.
Yajur Madan and Neharika Kishore of Grade 9 were the comperes for
the entire event.
Finally, the house points were tabulated, and the PHE Head of Department Dr Manish Gogia announced the standings. Air house bagged the
first position, while Fire, Water and Earth House came second, third
and fourth respectively. All in all, the Inter-House Swimming Gala was
an exciting and entertaining event.
