Narrows Inlet Hydro Project Newsletter No. 2 Project Update After receiving preliminary regulatory approvals, BluEarth, through its subsidiary NI Hydro Holding Corp., (the “Company”) has begun initial site work on the 33 megawatts (“MW”) Narrows Inlet Hydro Project (the “Project”). To date, the Company has: Committed to First Nations & Stakeholder Engagement. BluEarth is committed to working with stakeholders to provide opportunities for engagement on all projects. On March 10, 2016 ◊ Installed a construction camp at the head of Narrows Inlet BluEarth and the shíshálh Nation received ◊ Mobilized various materials and equipment in support of ongoing development rezone lands for the future power houses ◊ Began upgrading roads and bridges in the Tzoonie River & Ramona Creek Valleys and temporary material laydown, within the ◊ Commenced work on the Tzoonie Mainline forest service road (“FSR”) bylaw will allow the Project to progress on ◊ Commenced work on the Ramona Creek FSR ◊ Began replacement of existing wood bridges and box culverts ◊ Placed signage at the entrance to affected access roads While access to the area remains open to the public, access may be affected for short periods of time due to road and bridge work. There is Project signage throughout notifying visitors of activity. For your safety and that of others, all site visitors are required to checkin at the site safety office upon arrival. Project Summary This hydroelectric project is located within shíshálh Nation territory approximately 75 km northwest of Vancouver and 50 km north of the town of Sechelt; situated at the northern end of the Narrows Inlet, in the Tzoonie River Valley. The Project consists of three small generating stations and will have a nameplate capacity of 33 MW. See reverse for additional information and a detailed map. BC Hydro issued an Energy Purchase Agreement for Project in August 2010. Environmental certificates for these three projects were issued in January 2014. approval for a rezoning bylaw in order to Sunshine Coast Regional District. This adopted schedule. March 2015 December 2015 Narrow Inlet Project Newsletter No. 2 March 2016 The Narrows Inlet Hydro Project includes five main components as indicated below: ◊ ◊ 19 MW run-of-river generating station at Chickwat Creek, which uses Chickwat Creek as its Construction: Key Dates primary water source Roads & Bridges Upgrades Currently underway 7 MW run-of-river generating station at Upper Ramona Creek, which uses Ramona Lake as its primary water source ◊ 7 MW run-of-river generating station at Lower Ramona Creek, which uses water from Ramona Creek and the outflow from the Upper Ramona Creek component as its water source ◊ Civil Construction Anticipated start - May, 2016 Construction Completed Anticipated - November, 2017 Collector substation and transmission lines to transmit the electricity to the point of interconnection with the BC Hydro electrical system ◊ Temporary infrastructure, including lay down areas, construction camp, temporary roads Construction crew marks anchor bolts for new bridges Pre-Construction Environmental Studies BluEarth actively works to mitigate any potential environmental effects from our projects.
