Mark joined the faculty of CFCC following 16 years with Frederick Community College, MD, most recently as Chair of the Department of Allied Health & Wellness. Previous career positions included Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor at the School of Allied Health, Florida A&M University; Education Coordinator, Department of Respiratory Care, Florida Hospital; Manager and Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Home Care, Frederick, MD; and Instructor, School of Respiratory Therapy, Columbia Union College, Takoma Park, MD. A published academician, Mark is a member of the American Associations of Adult and Continuing Education, Respiratory Care, and Public Health, in addition to the Maryland/ DC Society for Respiratory Care. He is a Registered respiratory therapist and has Certification in Thanatology from Hood College, Frederick, MD. Mark is a Fellow in Aging and a member of the University Round Table at Oxford University, England. Mark and his wife Diane, a registered nurse, have three sons: Doug, who works in telecommunications in Pennsylvania, Joshua, a Psychology major at Western State College, Colorado and Jonathan, who teaches American Government at Belleview High School. The Paughs attend Queen of Peace Catholic Church and enjoy traveling, reading, and boating. He has had several positive experiences, both personal and professional, with hospice service, and wants to contribute to the community through his Board affiliation. Mark is especially interested in educating all health care providers about hospice care.
